Downton Abbey Tomorrow Night!!!....
Joe feels better, but is coughing, coughing, coughing! Poor baby - now his head hurts when he coughs, worse than his back and ribs. I am still taking Mucinex and ZiCam so I don't catch it. Found out today that our friends, Al and Helen, are also sick with bad colds. We did not go to church this evening.
Anyway, we did get out this morning, and went over to St. Pete, so we could shop at Mazarro's Italian Market. I stocked up on their imported pasta, which tastes almost homemade. We also got some olives and peppers to go on the antipasta plate for next Saturday's dinner party. I just love that market. Sure wish there was one here in Lakeland. It's 56 miles to go over there. At least today the traffic was great. No accidents and no back-ups on I-4 or I-275. I asked Joe to take a hanky so he could catch his coughs before they traveled around the car and into me! Bless him, he did.
Driving through the Plant City area, we could see the fields of strawberries looking healthy and bright green. Strawberry season is almost upon us, here in Central Florida. Plant City is home to the annual Strawberry Festival, bringing lots of visitors through the area. I can't wait for some fresh Florida berries....just a few more weeks!
When we got back to Lakeland, I ran into Walgreens for more Mucinex and happened to see the TV guide for this coming week. It has Matthew and Mary on the cover. I am so excited that Season 3 starts tomorrow night. If you aren't watching Downton Abbey, find it on-line and catch up. It is such a good show. World War I just ended, and things are changing. This will be a great season, starting with Matthew and Mary's wedding.
Joe is enjoying all the football this weekend. He helped me get the boxes down from the attic. I have the tree down, and only need to pack away the rest, which I have gathered on the dining room table. It won't take me long to finish, then we can get things put back up in the attic. Whew. I usually have all of it done on New Year's Eve day.
Cleaning and laundry tomorrow. Hope you are having a good Saturday! Peace, love & hugs.

Yummm, "strawbellies" as my granddaughter used to say....love 'em! Sure hope Joe gets rid of that cough....it almost hurts to move. I havent gotten into Downton Abbey either, but my Jenn LOVES it. She has always been an English person at heart.
ReplyDeleteHope everybody feels better soon and that you stay immune.
ReplyDeleteIn Madrid we have a strawberry train, which is an old train with wooden benches. It starts running around May I think. It goes to a town famous for its strawberries. On the journey, hostesses come round with strawberries for the passengers.
Brenda, the strawberry train sounds like fun!!
DeleteItalian Market sounds yummy. I hope you don't catch Joe's cold. Mmmm fresh strawberries sound delish.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are having a great weekend! I bet that imported pasta tastes yummy! It must be really good Italian market for you to drive that far! Glad the drive was pleasant! I started watching season 1 of Downton Abbey it was good but I didn't take the time to really get into it. I should borrow Lauren's DVD's and start watching it again!
ReplyDeleteYes, Kris, you should! We were hooked by the second episode of season one. Season two is fantastic and I can't wait to see the season three opener tonight!
DeleteI've been wanting to watch "Downton Abby," although, Gary always has control of the channel changer. Football is taking priority these days.
ReplyDeleteThanks for telling us about the online viewing of "Downton Abby." Perhaps, I will find time to watch it.
In a little while, Brianna, my grand-daughter will be here, and she takes my attention away from everything else.
Have a great day in the Lord.
