April 3rd: Friday Focus

Good Friday.  Don't we always wonder why it is called GOOD when it's the day Jesus was crucified?  In ancient times, the word "good" had a deeper meaning, such as "holy" or "pious".  Similar to the Bible being called 'the Good Book'.  Later, it marks the ultimate sacrifice that brought redemption and salvation to believers.  How blessed are we that Jesus made that sacrifice for us!!

My church will hold our Good Friday service at 7:00 pm. It is emotional, beautiful, and quiet.

There isn't much to 'focus' on.  It's been a relatively normal, not busy week for me.  The morning walks with my neighbor friends are a great way to get my day started.  I am so blessed with sweet friends living on both sides of me, and across the street from me.

I was asked if I saw the launch of Artemis II on Wednesday.  No, I didn't even go out to try to see it.  We are so far from the coast here.  We can see a launch now and then, but they all look the same, and I don't get excited about them anymore.  By the time we can see them here, they don't look much different from a jet airplane's contrail. My neighbor's daughter got a good photo from her house, so it was visible.

I did go out to see if I could catch the "pink moon", but sadly, it was too cloudy.  I turned around and snapped a photo of the sunset, which was prettier than the moon from behind the clouds.  The moon photo is first, looking east, followed by the sunset, looking west.

I went to Bible study yesterday morning, and the dinner group went to a Mexican restaurant last night.  I had a taco salad that was very good and so big that I only ate half of it.  There were only five of us.

I have six people coming for Easter dinner.  I will go to Publix tomorrow for some last-minute things I still need.  Everyone is bringing something to share, so I don't have too much left to get ready.  I hope I remember to get a photo this year!

Wishing you all a blessed weekend!  Thanks for your visit today!

Peace and Hugs!

Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?
Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?
Oh! Sometimes it causes me to tremble, tremble, tremble.
Were you there when they nailed Him to the tree?

  3. We also have a service tonight at 7.
My niece who lives in Florida shared a picture of Artemis that she got from her yard. Very cool. I just saw something that made me laugh - "Say all you want about Florida, but it's the only state where you can get a direct flight to the moon!"

  4. That is interesting to learn why today is called Good Friday. I hope it is a wonderful service at your church.
I saw the launch of Artemis II on the news, that would be cool to see one in real life but I suppose if you see them lots there is nothing to get excited about.

  9. I don't generally answer comments, but I wanted you to know that I changed the background on Saturday 9. I tried to cut and paste just now to my blog and had no problem. Of course, I never had any trouble with the pink, either, and don't pretend I know why you did. But you are welcome to give it a try this week.

  12. We watched the launch as it was happening on tv. Yes, I agree, your sunset picture is nicer than the moon one. Enjoy your Easter meal with everyone 😀
