April 9th: Whimsical Fashion Fun

There isn't a linky, and there aren't any rules.
Check out the dress and help decide which purse she should carry.
It's all for fun and just a whimsical thing!
Photos are from The Storybook of Dreams and Beauty.

It's spring!  It's High School Prom Time!  She has four purses to choose from.  Help her make up her mind.  Count down 1-2-3-4 and tell us which one you like best.  It's all for fun and just a whimsical thing!  Go back in time...

My thoughts:  All of the purses would work for her, but I would choose #2.  Hopefully, it is hiding a handle inside.  This dress is reminiscent of one I wore for the prom in my junior year.  It was blue instead of pink.  The one I wore my senior year was pink, though!  Did you go to your prom?  Tell us about your dress!

Peace and Hugs!

For the joy of human love,
Brother, sister, parent, child,
Friends on earth and friends above,
For all gentle thoughts and mild.
Lord of all, to Thee we raise,
This our hymn of grateful praise.

  1. That's a lovely, very simple prom dress. Much better than what I see the girls wearing today...they hardly classify as a "dress". This particular dress is soft and lovely, even if a bit plain. I like purse #3 for some reason. It just seems to match the dress. I made my dress that I wore in my junior year. It was emerald green with a white lace band around the middle, empire style, but the dress was straight and had spaghetti straps. My senior prom I wore a white dress that my mother made, and there is a story there, but I won't go into it now. Maybe for a post sometime. Happy Spring! Happy we are getting some much needed rain, although we need a LOT more! Take care and have a lovely week. I am off to the dentist this morning for a cleaning.

  2. I like this dress and in my younger years would have worn it. I like purse #3 and maybe it has a handle inside. I didn't go to my junior prom, but did go to my senior prom. I wore a cream colored dress with colored ribbons around the different layers. It was by Gunne Sax. Are they even still around?

  3. That is a pretty prom dress! There were no such things as prom when I was at school, they started happening much later. I would go for bag #3.

  4. This is a pretty dress and much better than what I see the girls wearing now which are so very skimpy! I think I would choose purse #4. We didn't have proms in my school - just a banquet and the moms made the dresses. :)

  5. I love that dress, so pretty and not too revealing, I think purse #2 would be ideal. Yes, I went to prom, I thought my dress was beautiful - long ago and far away.

  6. I like #2 as well. Pretty dress and the simplicity of it requires a purse that pops!

  7. I'm leaning toward #3, Terri. I went to my prom but did not enjoy it; a story for another day!

  8. Hello Terri, I choose #1. I hope you enjoy the YouTube recommendations that I made on my last two blog posts...Monday and Thursday! I hope you are doing well, dear friend. I love your blog background as well.

  9. Beautiful dress! I, too, like #2. I can scarcely remember my prom, but how I loved that dress -- soft, mossy green with an empire waist.

  10. Gorgeous dress. I want to be young again just to wear it with #2 or 4.

  11. Very simple and elegant. I'd choose #2 this time, I think.

  14. I vote for bag #3. I never went to prom!

  15. All 4 of the purse choices are very nice; I'll go with #3. I did not go to my prom. Due to a very conservative upbringing (church), I never went to a school dance. I did attend a nice banquet where prom-type clothes were expected. My mother sewed my dress. It was most likely a Simplicity pattern. Long, empire-style with white lace on the top and a lime green skirt.
