Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 633
1. What's one thing on your to-do list that you want to get done, need to get done, or that must get done before the year ends? I still have grocery shopping to do before Christmas Day, but I do have the ham. I also need to get busy in my she shed/junk room, but that won't happen before the end of the year.
2. December 17th is National Maple Syrup Day...are you a fan? Do you like maple flavor in other food items such as candy, cookies, donuts, oatmeal, hot toddies, coffee? I do like maple syrup and I have a candle that smells like maple syrup. Yum! I don't like coffee flavored with anything, but any of the other things mentioned are okay!
This year they've named The AI Architects as their 'person of the year'. What say you? Is this a good choice, an obvious choice, a logical choice? Who do you think should have been named person of the year? I don't pay much attention to things like that and really don't have an opinion, one way or another.
4. What's a city, state, or country you've visited that you never care to visit again? Tell us why. I won't speak badly about Chicago, but I hope I never have to fly in or out of the O'Hare Airport ever again. Twelve hours trying to get on a flight after mine was cancelled was exhausting.
5. Next Sunday (December 21st) marks the first day of winter (or the opposite if you're living down under). What's one thing you love about this new season? Winter in Florida is THE BEST and why I live here!! No snow, no ice, no humidity, and the hurricanes are over for another year.
6. Insert your own random thought here. My luncheon yesterday, with three of my dear friends, was so fun. I didn't take one picture of us. I'm meeting my friend, Kalisa, for lunch today. Looking forward to seeing her! Time is flying.

Yes to your thoughts about winter, and why we are happy we are here in Florida. We can survive the summer just knowing that our "winter" is perfect. Re: maple syrup, I like it, but I can't really eat sweet stuff much any more. However, I did cook some maple flavored sausage the other day, and the house still smells like it...it's a good smell! LOL. I still have to finish my Christmas shopping hopefully today, and then comes the wrapping. I hope you have a lovely lunch today with your friend, and also how nice you had a nice lunch with friends yesterday. You sure have a lot of wonderful friends there! You are blessed!!!!
ReplyDeleteI do like real maple syrup, but like Pamela, I don't indulge too often. One of my favorite sweets as a child was maple sugar candy. What a treat! Have a wonderful lunch with your friend today, Terri.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, I remember the trials you had at Chicago.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy for Dec 21 because the days start getting longer!
I do not have fond memories of O'Hare airport either!
ReplyDeleteLove your answer to #5, and that's the reason I live in Texas, other than I was born here!! Hope you have a great time at lunch.
ReplyDeleteI must say, I miss going to Florida! That tropical smell, right when you walk out of the Orlando airport, love it. Living up here in the winter is so challenging, we have at least three full months of cold and slippery driving, no sunshine on the skin, no bare feet...it's no wonder we sunbathe on the deck when it's sunny and fifty degrees in April...O'Hare Airport is just way too big, hard to navigate, almost missed a flight there once...ugh.
ReplyDeleteI quit caring about who Time magazine thinks is worthy a long time ago.
ReplyDeleteSo blessed to know none of my family or dear friends is travelling by air this season. God bless those in the transportation industry and give them bags full of patience!
I still have shopping to do but it is being just before Christmas.
ReplyDeleteOhh! I do like the sound of that maple syrup candle and the sound of your weather!
I couldn't help but laugh when you said this: "I won't speak badly about Chicago, but I hope I never have to fly in or out of the O'Hare Airport ever again."
ReplyDeleteI used to work at O'Hare as a ticket agent! Can you imagine the stress of that job way back when.
ReplyDeleteI like maple syrup - but not in coffee.
We're traveling this month and I think will likely see some snow. I'm not mad about it unless it messes with our travel arrangements. Enjoy all the fun things you have going on and have a very merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteFunny how you don't like coffee flavoured things yet I think you drink coffee? I'm the opposite - never drink coffee but love coffee flavoured things!
