December 13th: The Wedding, Part 2...

I woke up on the day of the wedding, and my grandson Tristan decided to go out to lunch with Rob, Jenny, and me.  I was waiting in the lobby of the hotel for them and took a picture of the beautiful fountain and the Christmas tree.

Rob and Jenny went to The Fish House every time they were in Key Largo to scuba dive.  Jenny hoped the yellowfin tuna was still on the menu, and it was.  It is what she always ordered and was not disappointed.

Rob, Tristan, and me...

Jenny and I both loved the jellyfish lamp...  She said the lights on the ceiling were just the same as they were more than 30 years ago.

I had mahi mahi stuffed with lobster!  It was so good!!

Tristan, Jenny, me, and Rob...

The placemats were maps of the Keys.  There are so many little islands...

Of course, we had to do this as we were leaving...

I took my picture before going down for the wedding...

The beautiful bride and very lucky groom!

There was a cocktail hour in the courtyard right after the ceremony.
Lauren's uncle is a pastor and performed the ceremony, pronouncing them husband & wife.

This little cutie wasn't a flower girl, but she captured everyone's hearts!

I was seated at Table 2...

The cake was a "classic" decorated with buttercream, instead of fondant...

The ballroom was beyond gorgeous.  The live band was secured from the Hard Rock Cafe in Miami.  I was told that three of the band members used to be part of The Village People.  They were LOUD and excellent.

The first dance...

My meal was delicious.  Filet mignon, carrots, mashed potatoes, and an onion...

Cutting the cake...

My two grands.... Love them so much!!

I went back to my room shortly after I enjoyed a piece of the wedding cake.  It was a beautiful and very long day!!  The next morning, I left with Rob and Jenny to drive back to Naples.  We missed the kids, who left early for their honeymoon in Mexico, but I did get to see Kathy (bride's mom, former daughter-in-law) and thanked her with a big hug.  She paid for my room, which was a huge gift and a wonderful surprise. Wow.

I drove from Naples back to Lakeland and arrived safely at home just after 6:00 pm.  My son, Jeff, arrived shortly after that, and my birthday week started!!  More about that on Monday!!

Peace and Hugs!!

O Come, O Come, Immanuel...
