The Wednesday Hodgepodge...

A big THANKS to our hostess, Joyce!  Y'all can click HERE to join the fun!!

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 599

From this Side of the Pond

1. The Hodgepodge lands on National Picnic Day...will you celebrate? Do you enjoy picnics? Dining out of doors, picnic or otherwise? What are three or four things I'd find in your picnic basket?  I'm old and don't really enjoy picnics anymore.  It's the same reason I don't care about going to the beach anymore.  There is too much stuff to cart from the car and then back again when it's time to go home.  Eating outside, on a deck, or in the carport... fine.  Fill your plate inside and go eat outside (when the weather is nice).  In the old days of picnics when carting wasn't so hard... fried chicken or burgers if there is a grill, potato salad, chips, fruit, cookies, etc.  I'm not picky about food.

2.  A time recently when you felt 'antsy'?  I can't really think of a recent time when I felt antsy.

3. As the saying goes...' when life gives you lemons, make lemonade.'  Do you like lemonade? When did you recently need to make lemonade out of lemons, figuratively speaking?  I do like lemonade.  I just purchased two blouses that were "on sale," and when they came, I was not crazy about them... but I think I can alter them a bit so that I will like them more.  Getting motivated, though, is always my problem.  LOL  Too late to send them back, so hopefully I can make lemonade from the lemons.  They are hanging out in my workroom.  I just need to figure out how to thread the sewing machine again.

4. Recently, five 'celebrities' made a brief (ll minute) foray into space aboard Jeff Bezos' Blue Origin rocket. Did you hear about this? Your thoughts? If money were no object, is this something you'd like to do someday?  Yes, I heard about it and just laughed.  I think it was a very expensive publicity stunt.  No, thank you, not for me.  I don't even like to fly.

5. Favorite thing about the 'space' you're sitting in right now?  I am in my happy place.  My recliner, in front of the TV, with my 'nesting area' next to me. Ahhhh...

6. Insert your own random thought here.  I got my car washed yesterday morning.  The pollen was about three inches thick (not really), and it looked terrible.  Now, it looks like I have a shiny new car sitting in the carport!

Peace and Hugs!

He lives! He lives!
Christ Jesus lives today!
He walks with me and talks with me
Along life’s narrow way.
He lives! He lives, salvation to impart!
You ask me how I know He lives:
He lives within my heart!

  1. Terri, I enjoyed reading your responses to the Hodgepodge questions this morning. I prefer an indoor picnic -- less bugs, not being hot and did I mention less bugs. Happy Wednesday!

  2. Speaking of lemons, I made a Sour Cream lemon pie for Easter, but haven't had life give me lemons lately! :)
I have no desire to go in a rocket either. I felt the same about it as you.

  3. We had rain yesterday so hopefully the pollen is nearing it's end. I love a clean car and hubs loves to wash them so win-win. Good luck with the blouses. Have a nice day Terri!

  4. I agree, that space 'ride' was rather ridiculous. It did foster some funny memes, tho.
In spite of 'Splendor in the Grass' and such movies, I've no desire to picnic, especially on the beach. I get all "antsy" just thinking about it, lol.

  5. That was an expensive publicity stunt, Terri, I agree. They are celebrities, not astronauts! I love lemonade, but don't drink it much anymore due to the sugar content. And picnics? Not for me these days. Blessings!

  6. I agree about number 4. Just a bunch of narcissitic women pretending they're something that they're not. Pfffft. Big deal. // My car needs a good rain to wash it ... that's how I do it. Ha! We're waiting for the thunderstorms to arrive this afternoon and overnight, so fingers crossed! Have a very blessed day and enjoy your cozy space, Terri!

  7. Yes, picnics and outdoor BBQs away from home are not as appealing as they used to be. I , do, however, enjoy buying a deli sandwich and something to drink from the deli and taking that in a lunch sack to a favorable spot outside to eat.

  8. I agree - no picnics or beach - too much work - come inside to eat with me. We are supposed to have rain soon - and I can get my pollen off my car! lol I think that space ride was silly. I bet you can fix those shirts up.

  9. I love a picnic but it is a lot of work carting things around.
Good luck with altering the blouses, that is a really sensible thing to do.

  10. I am antsy right now--I've been sick of the long recovery from Septic Shock back in Sept! I want to do things but it is a strain to be up and about! I am in my bed with my cat on my lap!

  11. I saw a few people say that we made a bigger deal out of the wealthy celebrity women who took that short trip than we do of the many women who are the brains behind a trip like that. I hate that.

I think I still like picnics and going to the beach, although I haven't done either one in a while.
