Last Thursday, I treated myself to a pedicure. I had surgery on two toes back in January, and now it is sandal-wearing time, so it was time to make my toenails look a little nicer. Not picture-worthy, but they do look nicer. I went to dinner with my Thursday Mas Verde dinner friends. We went to the Metro Diner again, and I think we will go there this coming Thursday. It is so good, and the menu is great!
On Friday, I had my four-month appointment with my primary doctor. She was happy with the blood work and sent me on my way. I will go again in four more months - August. Good golly, time is going so fast. My church had a Good Friday service, but I decided to let it go this year. My excuse for being tired is no excuse when contemplating what Jesus endured for me. Prayers of thanksgiving were lifted.
I cleaned the house and did Easter dinner prep work on Saturday. My cats always want to check out what I'm doing, so I can't set the table ahead of time, and I have to be careful setting things out that they will get into. I also have to use Clorox wipes on all surfaces before food comes out and guests arrive.
I went to church yesterday. Easter Sunday is always so joyful. They did an egg hunt after the service, but I didn't stay for it. When I got home, there was an hour before guests were to arrive, so I had time to get the oven filled up and the broccoli steamed.
I totally forgot to get a picture of my guests, but here is one of the food (buffet-style) and the table. I don't have a photo of the "Happy Easter" cake Cheryl brought from Publix, or the cherry cobbler that Shirley brought (along with ice cream). We were well-fed, and there really wasn't much left. That's always a good thing! There were seven of us because Paul was under the weather. He told Anne to come (across the street neighbors). I sent a plate home with her for him to have when he was up to it.

Your tablecloth is so pretty! I'm glad you had friends gathered round for Easter. You seem like a wonderful friend and neighbor. I hope one day our paths cross in person! Have a nice week!
ReplyDeleteI had a good day, too, even when I woke up dreading the day. But church and home to a beautiful table and my brother and his wife came and lifted me from my gloom BUT I forgot a single picture!!! Figures!
ReplyDeleteLooks like you had a feast! I really like that tablecloth. What a special thing to have from Joe's mom.
ReplyDeleteBusy, busy weekend for you, Terri, but such a joyous time for all. Easter is such a glorious time, isn't it? Blessings!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful tablecloth and the food looks amazing. I had such a good day too.
ReplyDeleteWhat a very pleasant and wonderful get-together you made for your guests! Those dishes look so scrumpious. *drools over the deviled eggs* Such a beautiful and cherished tablecloth. // Hallelujah! He is risen indeed! Happy Easter Monday to you, Terri! Hugs and blessings! 🌹
ReplyDeleteThat's a beautiful table cloth. I'm glad you can still use it. Your buffet of Easter food looks wonderful. I attended a Maundy Thursday event at church but like you, did not go to the Good Friday service since it was in the evening. We like to be home before sunset.
ReplyDeleteWell, let me tell you that was quite an awesome spread. It looked GREAT.
ReplyDeleteHallelujah! HE IS RISEN!
That layout looks and sounds inviting! What's best (IMHO) is that tablecloth; I can only imagine all the years' history while happy family members gathered. Your friends are so blessed.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful tablecloth! Those are the real treasures, stains and little tears and all, filled with memories of meals past. Your dinner looks so good. We kept ours simple, and actually looking back, maybe too simple, but it was okay. We were all full and happy. I love that you enjoy entertaining so much. Your friends and neighbors are truly blessed! And so are your cats! LOL. My cats would LOVE to come in the house, but I'm afraid my house is just not cat proofed enough to risk it. And still no kittens! The lady who was going to get the ducks was here today (still didn't get the ducks, but I think the ducks have about decided to move away anyway) and she looked at Blackie Sue and said she definitely still looks pregnant, more so than before, so I guess we just have to be patient. I offered for her to take her again, and she said she can't now as she just took on two other foster cats for awhile. So I have to make the most of it and do the best I can.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a wonderful week ahead. Happy Easter Monday!
The tablecloth, as well as your blog background, are stunning! The food looks amazing. Happy Easter and warm greetings from Montreal, Canada. God bless you.
ReplyDeleteI love the antique tablecloth - how special!! The food looks yummy!!
ReplyDeleteHow special to use that tablecloth! Your food buffet looks so nice - and delicious. Somehow my picture-taking was sorely lacking this year. None of the food or the people eating it. I did get some of the process of painting eggs, but none of the finished product. Ugh.
