Crazy Sam brings us nine questions for Saturday blogs! Thanks, Sam! You can join in HERE!

Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so to speak. We encourage you to visit other participants' posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
Saturday 9: Photograph (1973)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
2) While there are approximately 180 published songs credited to Lennon-McCartney, this is the only song written by Harrison-Starr. When you think of Ringo's old band, the Beatles, what's the first song that comes to mind? I Want To Hold Your Hand. She Loves Me is a close second.
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) In this song, Ringo stumbles upon a photograph that reminds him of a lost love. Are there any photos displayed in the room you're in right now? My living room (where I have my happy place) is FULL of photographs!! Family, friends, cherished art photos... Yes.
3) George and Ringo wrote this song while on a yacht in the South of France. They, and their wives, had just attended Mick Jagger's wedding to Bianca in Saint Tropez and decided to take a little holiday together. What are your vacation plans for 2025? I don't have any vacation plans yet for this year. I have some ideas for a couple of trips north, but nothing set in stone yet.
4) At 5'8, Ringo was the shortest Beatle and the only one with blue eyes. How tall are you? What's your eye color? I used to be just a tad under 6 feet but measure around 5' 10" now. Old age has caused some shrinkage. My brother was 6 feet 3 or 4 and one sister is about an inch shorter than me. I have been the tallest kid in the pictures my entire life... including Kindergarten...
5) Ringo gave his first wife, Maureen, a one-of-a-kind birthday gift. Frank Sinatra recorded "The Lady Is a Tramp" with special lyrics, written just for her. Do you have anything that's personalized? (It could be a monogram on a scarf, it doesn't have to be as cool as a gift from Frank Sinatra.) The only thing I can think of is my wedding ring which was engraved TLD love JND on the inside. His is also engraved JND love TLD.
6) Ringo appeared as Mr. Conductor on Thomas the Tank Engine. He recorded the narration for the entire first season in just a week. Tell us what you did last week. You just need to read my blogs from this week to see the fun I've had with my son, Joey, here visiting!! He is headed back home today and I'll be missing him.
7) As a boy in Liverpool, Ringo loved watching American westerns. Do you like cowboy movies/shows? It depends. The older I get, the less I like seeing violence and hatred displayed on the screen.
8) In 1973, when this song was a hit, former President Lyndon Johnson died. Who was President when you were a kid? Truman, Eisenhower, Kennedy...
9) Random question: When you woke up this morning, did you know the day and date (before looking at your phone)? Yes, I did, but sometimes I do have to check my phone to be sure!
For the beauty of the earth
For the glory of the skies,
For the love which from our birth
Over and around us lies.
Lord of all, to Thee we raise,
This our hymn of grateful praise.

I was so shocked when I read how tall you are! From your pictures, I never thought "wow! She is so lucky to be so tall!" Our daughter is almost six feet tall and I'm . . . not! I used to be 5' 5" . . .I'm probably 5' 4" now. I've always thought it would be so cool to be tall. On another topic, I love the lyrics to that hymn!
ReplyDeleteI'm 5'5" and have usually been one of the shortest. Our Ruby is tall and has been the tallest in her class every year. Her Dad is 6'6" so that's not surprising!
ReplyDeleteI’m glad you had a good time with your son
ReplyDeleteI remember hearing that song like it was "yesterday" - LOL! I loved your comments here today, Terri. Have a blessed weekend!
ReplyDeleteFun facts to learn about you! My daughter is tall (6') but I am average at 5'6", green eyes.
ReplyDeleteI have a wall of loved ones' photos. I did enjoy the Beatles songs...
I forgot to write that I have green eyes!
DeleteYour Dali avatar is so clever ... priceless! As a child my heroes were Roy Rogers, Gene Autry, Rowdy Yeates, (etc!!!), but not so much anymore. Even the true crime fare 20/20 and Dateline air lately is a turn-off. Safe travels to Joey!
ReplyDeleteOh, let me know if you travel up this way this year. I so hope we get to meet in person one of these days. I'm glad you had a wonderful visit from Joey. I agree....I'm disliking the violent movies more and more, while Tim seems to LIKE them more. Ugh. Enjoy the rest of the weekend, Terri!
ReplyDeleteOH gee, I couldn't remember how that song went, so I listened to it, and now it's got me crying. Crying for the Beatles...only Ringo and Paul are left...but crying for myself too, for all those that are gone that all I have is a photograph, but LOTS Of wonderful memories, and even if the photographs disappeared, I still have my memories (Ha! at least for now I do! Someday I may not have my memories either! LOL) That song sure stirred up some "thoughts". But it's all good. I'm thankful that for those I love, I know I will see them again someday, and then it will be FOREVER...won't need any photographs there! praise God.
ReplyDeleteOh, I know you sure enjoyed having Joey here this week, and I'm so glad we got to meet him! He really is special! My hubby sure enjoyed talking to him. And I sure enjoyed being with both of you, and so did our kids (and John too). I've been wondering if you've planted your tomatoes yet! You'll have to take pictures when you do!
Hope you have a lovely rest of your weekend.
Joey hopes Darlene will be able to come with him to pick up the cedar chest so you can meet her, too (and she you!). Joey and I both enjoyed our day with all of you!!
DeleteMy favorite Ringo tune is Octopus Garden. I think it's so cute.
ReplyDeleteWe haven't had a vacation in 6 years. Funny thing, I haven't had the desire to go anywhere except for Day Trips. Guess I feel content that's why.
Blessings. ❤️
