I am so happy that I got my house decorated and ready for Christmas!! I was procrastinating a bit because I needed to clean out a lot of stuff I don't use anymore. My tree isn't seven feet tall now. It is a three-four foot tabletop tree. I don't need to decorate all the rooms anymore.
I got it done!! I put three bins of stuff in the front yard and wrote FREE on it. I posted on our community Facebook page that I put decorations out there. It was gone, all of it gone, almost before I got back in the house!! Yay!! AND a neighbor came by to see my floors and said she heard about the free things I put out last week and was sorry they were out of town. I took her to my car and showed her what was left in two boxes. She took three or four things and was happy to get them. I'm a happy girl!!
Here are some photos of Christmas in my house...
The wooden deer and sleigh were made by a friend of the family a bunch of years ago. It comes apart for storage. My mom made the Santa and the Angel.
My little tabletop tree is just right for me.
On the shelf just inside the front door...
The sideboard has my Advent Candles and a few other things.
Dining room table with a glass tree centerpiece.
I bought this a bunch of years ago at a craft fair, and that is where my Christmas cards will go when they start arriving. It hangs between the kitchen and dining room, at the end of the cupboards.
There are a few more things around, here and there, but I am pleased and should be able to put it all away in one storage box when Christmas is over. Mission accomplished.
Peace and Hugs!
O Come, O Come, Emmanuel...

Awesome! Love love this post (well, I love all of them, smiles) Wishing you a beautiful day my friend.
ReplyDeleteWow! I am impressed! Everything looks beautiful and festive and cozy! I know it must feel good to downsize and eliminate a lot of extra stuff. I am thinking in my head about doing that. Let's see how far I get! LOL. Benton is coming to help bring our many big tubs of stuff from the shed this morning. You are an inspiration to me to try harder to "Let GO". I hope you have a wonderful week! yes, "O Come, O Come, Emmanuel...and ransom captive Israel..." Amen.
ReplyDeleteHooray for you! I know that has to feel so good. Just think - you got things cleaned out and made lots of people happy at the same time. :)
ReplyDeleteEverything looks really nice!
Everything looks so warm and welcoming, Terri! Your little tree is perfect! Tom was feeling well enough to help me lug it out and put together yesterday ... the rest of decorating will have to wait a bit. I think decorations and accessories handmade and/or gifted by friends and loved ones mean so much more. Their love still surrounds us.
ReplyDeleteSorry I have been missing this week - I have been in Ohio visiting my son and his family for Thanksgiving. Let me tell you that 17 degrees in Ohio is a lot colder than 17 degrees in GA. It was brutal.
ReplyDeleteI love your Christmas decorations - so pretty. I think it will go great with the new floors too!
Your decorations are absolutely lovely, Terri, and make your home look both cozy and inviting. I love that you still have Christmas displays that have a family heritage to them, too. Those are always special! Blessings!
ReplyDeleteIt all looks amazing. I haven’t graduated to he table top tree yet, but I know it is my future, I have whittled down most of my decor he things I really love though and it feels good.
ReplyDeleteGood for you!! I haven't started yet. My weekend was too full of people. Maybe Saturday.
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing your Christmas decorations. I really like them all. We have a tree very much like yours, and as you said, it is just right for [us].
