Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 556
2. Do you have a beach bag? I have lots of bags that have been to the beach. What's in it? Nothing. Is a trip to the beach on your summer bucket list? Nope. Do you have a summer bucket list? No summer bucket list. As for the beach, these days (I'm old) I only enjoy the beach if I am staying "at the beach" and don't have to schlep umbrellas, sunscreen, water, snacks, towels, etc.
3. What's a song that makes you think of a summer past? Ricky Nelson's 'Travelin' Man'. What comes to mind when you hear it? The smell of chlorine, the city pool, and teen girls playing that song on the jukebox. What memories does it stir up for you? Frozen milkshake candy bars on a stick from the concession stand. I was nine years old and had a season pass to the pool. I rode my bike there by myself. Life was safer back in those days.
4. Sushi-yay or nay? Yay, if it is not raw fish. Have you actually tried it? Yes! If you love it what's your go-to order? I really like the ones called 'crispy' and California rolls. I got terribly sick on raw sushi once and haven't been able to eat it raw since then. I do love cooked rolls and especially love the ginger & wasabi.
5. I own a ridiculous amount of tchotchkes.
6. Insert your own random thought here. Nothing random. Doctor appointment this afternoon (regular check-up), dinner with the Mas Verde group tomorrow. We are going to Grillsmith. Lunch with Shirley on Friday at Glory Days (it got changed from Thursday). That's all I've got...
My avatars are all from Bitmoji. Everyone can do it!!

I enjoyed your summer memories. Takes me right back!
ReplyDeleteI should try sushi that's not raw fish. I've never been able to get past the whole raw thing so haven't had any of it.
Give me a good steak! LOL
ReplyDeleteLove your answers. I miss the beach so much....the ocean. We have the lake here and it comes in a close second. Haven't been anywhere in a while due to hubby's health issues. I hope you have a wonderful day, Terri. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteThe frozen Milky Way was a big hit at our pool's concession stand too! And we rode our bikes to the pool pretty much every day. It was a little over four miles, but no busy roads. Such carefree days I am grateful to have experienced! Have a nice day Terri!
ReplyDeleteFrozen milky way! 😀
Delete💙
ReplyDeleteI'm right there with you on the beach visitation. Want to join me on the balcony? I've never heard of a Frozen Milky Way, but it sounds like something that belongs in our cart. Lifting my prayers for no surprises at your appointment this afternoon.
ReplyDeletePS - I gave my Bitmoji a make-over last night!
Not sure my teeth could take a frozen Milky Way candy bar now! LOL I can't wait to see your new avatar!!
DeleteWhenever I hear an old Beach Boys tune, it's summer all over again for me. We have no plans for this summer at all except the ubiquitous doctor visits. I do miss those days when we, as kids, could be so independent.
ReplyDeleteHave a blessed week, Terri!
NO SUSHI FOR ME EITHER! I have bad digestion and I have no idea what it would do to me.
ReplyDeleteI remember the song by Ricky Nelson Traveling Man.
I had to give up a lot of my tchotchkes when we downsized twice!
Yep, I'm with you on #2, but I would still rather be in a cabin in the mountains enjoying cool weather. Just sayin' lol
ReplyDeleteSplurging? What's that? Most of our splurging will have to wait until after November to see which way the wind is blowing. If it's still over the garbage dump with 0 then, well, we're really gonna have to tuck in. Still trying to sell the motorbikes but the economy is just too poor for anyone to have a hobby right now. I get that. Hope your week is wonderful. 💙
