What a blessing it has been to have a job with no stress and that my boss and his wife have become good friends! Actually, all of my coworkers are so great and even the volunteers know to come in my office for a piece of candy from my candy jar. Monika is the "boss" volunteer for Florida Trails. She and her crew mow the over 20 miles of hiking trails at Tenoroc. They are on the property every week and do invaluable work for us.
That said, I had Danon, Mali and Monika over Friday evening for dinner. I made baked ziti with meatballs, salad, garlic bread, and had brownies and ice cream for dessert. They like to play board games and especially my marble/card game based on Aggravation. Danon is still on sick leave after his extensive back surgery but he is doing great and hopes to be back at work after the July 4th holiday. We all ate well and had fun playing the game. I won one game and Danon won the second game. I didn't take one picture but here is one from a few years ago when we were all together for the Beyond Van Gogh show that was down in Sarasota.

I got up early on Saturday to head south to Punta Gorda for lunch with Lauren and Tristan. Tristan is still looking for a job and has been on a few interviews. He has more lined up in the coming weeks. He is lucky/blessed to be able to take his time to find something he really likes. He told me he wants the next one to be his "career" spot, where he can stay for years to come. I hope he finds it.
Jeremy didn't come this time. His family had been down in the Florida Keys and just got back on Saturday. It was nice catching up with what Lauren and Jeremy have been doing. They went with Jeremy's family to the Dry Tortugas and camped on one of the islands. They went fishing and did a lot of snorkeling. Lauren said it was lots of fun. She showed me pictures. His family really likes Lauren and she is so happy. Jeremy has been great for her!! Here is a picture our waitress took...
I feel so blessed that they will give up a Saturday to have lunch with their grandma! It was a good time!!
I woke up at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday morning with AFib going on. It's been a long time since I had an episode. Not sure what brought it on, but this one took about three hours to settle down. I don't get anxious anymore which helps keep my blood pressure down and I just let it run its course. BUT, I was very tired and decided to stay in bed and skip church. I sent an email to my friends who usually sit with me so they wouldn't worry. They responded with prayers. I didn't get up again until around 10:00. The cats didn't know what was going on!!
Feeling fine. Got my two loads of laundry done but not much else. This week, I have a doctor's appointment on Wednesday and lunch with Shirley on Thursday at Glory Days. That, plus work, is it so far. Wishing you blessings in the days ahead!
I'm so thankful that the A-fib episode was on Sunday so you could have that time with Tristan and Lauren. That's a sweet photo.
ReplyDeleteYou are blessed to have co-workers that are friends. It makes any job better!
Now - stay feeling good! :)
Sorry about the A-fib. When I have to many carb's/sugar they give that to me too. That's why I avoid carb's like the plague. That hurts and it's not fun. I get up, drink a lot of cold water, light exercise, and let it work it's way outta my system.
ReplyDeleteThat's wonderful that the co-workers are so friendly but I'm not surprised as you are a friendly person too. That goes both ways.
We need rain so bad I'm scrambling trying to keep the grass alive. Guess I should just let it go but I like the green around us.
Hope your day is good! 💙
I'm so sorry that you had the episode with A-fib, Terri. Something like that can be so scary, but I'm glad you remained calm throughout. Your grandchildren are so amazing, too, and how wonderful that Jeremy's family is so welcoming to Lauren. God bless you, my friend!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful and blessed weekend. Saying a prayer for you. It is wise not to get too alarmed as that will send that blood pressure up high. Take care, friend.
ReplyDeleteI love hearing about your grandkids and that they will meet you for lunch!! I'm so sorry about the A-fib episode. I'm glad you stayed at home and rested and I'm glad you let your friends know so they wouldn't worry about you!!
ReplyDeleteSo sorry to hear you had such a rough night, is there meds for Afib? You did the right thing staying home and getting some rest after that event. I love it when we get a waitress/waiter that will take a picture, most of the time they seem happy to do it, and I'm glad because I don't do selfies that well. lol Sure hope Tristan finds his career job and can settle into a good life.
ReplyDeleteHow happy you look at lunch with Tristan and Lauren.
ReplyDeleteSame with your bosses, it's great that you're friends.
Have a beautiful week.
I think that is wonderful of your grandkids. I hope Tristan finds something wonderful. Also so you have some meds for your A-Fib? Are you supposed to just let it run it's course? Do you get it checked by your doctor?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your concern. Yes, I am on meds and have been for years. This is just ho-hum for me and my doctor is aware. Yes, it just needs to work itself out. I know the upper numbers to pay attention to before seeking help. Lots of people live with A-fib.
DeleteYou are blessed indeed to have such a great boss and work friends! I’m so sorry you had a bit of trouble Sunday. Hope you are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteAlways find a good table! :)
ReplyDeleteAll great news! Well, except for the A-Fib. I just saw your response to 'Chatty' so I won't put on my "Mother knows best, call your doctor" voice. (lol)
ReplyDeleteIsn't it curious how an awful part-time job resulted in your finding this new one ... complete with new-found friends for good measure.
Yes. God is good and He is in control!!
