Banana Splits

| Amos Sewell's Banana Split |
The painting is named Banana Splits and is by Amos Sewell. It tells a story but I think the story is left up to us to figure out.
1. What do you think the man in the painting is thinking? How is that little girl going to eat all that ice cream!!
2. In your story what kind of sandwich and beverage is he having? A cup of coffee and grilled cheese.
3. Do you think he is a stranger to the children or does he know them? Why do you think so? I don't think he knows the children. He wouldn't be looking at her like that if he knew her. I think he might be out of work and hasn't had ice cream in months.
4. Do you keep ice cream at home? Usually. Banana splits usually have 3 or 4 scoops of ice cream. What flavor ice cream should be in your banana split? For me... no strawberry ice cream. Mine can just have vanilla and chocolate. I worked two summers during high school in an ice cream parlor so I've made lots of banana splits. Good times!

"Alleluia! Alleluia!"

thou silver moon with softer gleam,
O praise Him, O praise Him!
alleluia, alleluia, alleluia!"
I have been trying to leave my comment, and ran into an error notice that wouldn't let it publish, so I am trying once again. I enjoyed this post and had made all kinds of interesting comments (LOL), but I guess they weren't meant to be! So here is a test...let's see if this goes through! Hope you have a lovely day.
Looks like it went through this time! Whew! I was afraid I was going to have to restart my computer! All is well. Take care my dear friend!!
ReplyDeleteThis is a fun one. The painting reminds me of a Norman Rockwell. I enjoyed your thoughts on it!
ReplyDeleteI haven't heard that song for so long. Thanks for sharing it!
It sure was fun at the soda fountain of the drugstore when I was a girl. Lots of good memories and yummy treats!
ReplyDeleteHow fun are these answers? We have a couple that are the same. Loved your answers. Have a beautiful week. ♥

Aw, this reminds me of a Rockwell print! Unfortunately, the old man reminds me of my father's older brother -- a most humorless sort with little use for children. Your impression is far kinder!
ReplyDelete... but then, so are you.
This was so fun to play along with. Love your answers. Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteWorking at an ice cream shop would be a great job! Almost everyone said a grilled cheese sandwich which is making me hungry right now
ReplyDeleteWow... a Rorschach test for us! I see ice cream!
ReplyDeleteThis one certainly wants me to eat some ice cream, Terri. Oh, the good old days . . .
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
We have a carton of Walmart's "Bunny Tracks" ice cream in the freezer right now...
ReplyDeleteWe have grilled cheese sandwiches for supper occasionally. That's always a treat. Yum. Easy clean up too.
ReplyDeleteBlessings. xx
