I don't have much to report. I had lunch with my friend, Shirley on Friday. We went to Fish City Grill and enjoyed our food and the visit. She is excited that her son has purchased a home here in Lakeland. He is back in Texas, packing up the apartment he has lived in for the last 20+ years. She said he will be moving in at the end of July.
On Saturday, I slept in and got up with good intentions to clean my house. Nothing got done last week while I was sick. I was so tired and still coughing and blowing so I gave up on trying to do any cleaning. My church did a fundraiser for our kids' mission trip to Jamaica coming up next month. It was a box BBQ dinner drive-through. I purchased my ticket a couple of weeks ago so got myself into the car and off I went to get my dinner. A quarter chicken, baked beans, potato salad, a brownie, and a beverage. It sure tasted good and was so off my low-carb diet. I ate it all.
At church yesterday, they announced that they sold over 100 meals and made a bit over $3,000 with ticket sales and donations. Great effort! When I got home I did my laundry and pretty much nothing else but I do feel better and think a corner has been turned with this cold.
Off to work and I'm happy to be back to my normal schedule. Nothing special on my calendar until Friday. That gives me afternoons to get some cleaning done!! I'm having lunch with my friend/cat sitter Mary Jane after work on Friday. It will be good to catch up with her.
Wishing you a good week ahead!
That was a great thing to do for a fundraiser and they sure did great!
ReplyDeleteHope you feel much better this week.
Praise Him all creatures here below. Praise Him above ye heavenly hosts. Praise Father, Son, and Holy Ghost! Amen! And I do praise Him that you are finally feeling better! That was a nasty cold! I know we've had people sick up here with colds and bronchitis. The summertime crud I always called it. But so glad you are better. Just don't overdo it with the cleaning. Pace yourself. How dirty can your house be? Please don't look at mine...I've been very lazy lately (well, lazier than my normal lazy! LOL). Wow, that church fundraiser for the kids was really nice! Every bit helps! And you got a good dinner out of the deal! I hope this week will be a pleasant and healthy week for you. God bless you my friend.
ReplyDeleteSometimes rest is needed and it was a wise decision to do just that. There seems to be a pretty nasty cold going around up here as well. Seems to longer and be worse than what we think of as a normal cold but yet it is that. Hope you pop back up today.
ReplyDeleteThose cold germs have surely expired with their nastiness. This has got to be a better week for you!
ReplyDeleteI can totally relate to those unintentional sorts of days. At this time in my life, heck. We're worth it!
ReplyDeleteYour church's initiative is a great idea, and it sounds yummy, too!
As ever, thanks for making Monday morning a little bit nicer. 🤗
Good idea on the fundraiser.
ReplyDeleteI hope you're 100% today and the rest of the week.
Blessings. xx
I'm so sorry you still weren't feeling good this weekend and I hope you are much better this week. Your fundraiser dinner sounds delicious! Hoping hubby and I will make it to City Barbecue or Dickies sometime this week for some barbecue chicken.
ReplyDeleteFeel better soon.
ReplyDeleteSo happy to hear that the fundraiser was such a success, Terri, and that you are feeling so much better. Enjoy the week!
ReplyDeleteFeel better and enjoy those lunch dates. That fundraiser was a great success. So nice to hear about these actions of others getting together to help those in need. Have a good week and take care.
ReplyDeleteYour BBQ meal sounds delicious! I'm so glad you are feeling better!!
ReplyDeleteJust doing a catch up here Terri so hopefully by now you are over your cold. Cleaning has to wait when we're not 100 per cent!
