Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 502
2. "All things seem possible in May"~Edwin Way Teale. Do you agree? Elaborate. If not May, then in which month if any would you say all things seem possible? That's a new one for me! Gosh, I think all things are possible at all times. There is always hope and we just have to believe in those possibilities.
3. April showers bring May flowers...is this true where you live? Not really since this is Florida. Our February is more like the northern May. May, for us, brings humidity and a segway into hurricane season. What's your favorite color of the rainbow? All of them. Your favorite May bloom? Our lovely spring blooms are all gone by May. Do you enjoy visiting gardens? Not so that I seek them out but I do appreciate the beauty. I've just never had a green thumb and don't really care. What's a 'famous' garden you'd like to visit? I can't even think of a famous garden. I enjoy taking visitors to Lakeland's Hollis Garden and do enjoy the beauty. I'm not going to pull weeds or prune anything, though.
4. Are you a fan of the Star Wars series of films? No. If so how many have you seen? I saw the first one (or is it the fourth one?). (I think there are 12) Are you a fan of the sci-fi genre in general, in either books or movies? No, not even a little. What's your favorite sci-fi book or movie? I've seen Galaxy Quest five or six times. It is so funny! I have the DVD.
5. Cinco de Mayo lands on Friday of this week...do you enjoy Mexican food? Yes, it is a favorite! How often? Twice this week, actually, but usually once a month or so. Do you eat out or make your own? Both. Your favorite thing to order in a Mexican restaurant? I love a good taco salad. I love tacos. I love burritos. You get the idea!! Have you ever been to Mexico? No.
6. Insert your own random thought here. I want to buy some paint and do a little update to my kitchen. The itch started a while back and it is getting to the place where I need to give it a scratch, I think. Not a big change, just a refresh. Does anyone have experience with stick-on backsplash? I don't like the backsplash I inherited when we bought this house and Amazon has some really nice options that just stick on so you don't have to do demolition. Just asking. I sure don't want to keep sticking it back on if it will just peel off or come loose all the time. I can't afford major renovations but I really want to freshen things up. Nothing has been done since we had some painting done before we moved in over six years ago. How's that for random?!! LOL

I'm not a Star Wars fan either, but that's where Bob took me for our first date - Star Wars movie #2. He didn't know I wasn't a fan and I didn't tell him, at least not then.
ReplyDeleteA kitchen redo sounds fun!
I would do a paint refresh and maybe the backsplash won't be so noticeable. Do some pictures so we can follow along. Spring is definitely different in the southern states than the northern states. I see people in New England still wearing sweaters. I think I like the southern better, but ask me again in October when we are begging for a gentle breeze and it is not on its way at all:)
ReplyDeleteI'm not familiar with the backsplash stick-on's, but now you've piqued my interest. My poor kitchen is in serious need of an affordable makeover.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the mention of Galaxy Quest; it's been too long since we saw a funny movie.
I wish I could be of more help when it comes to a backsplash, Terri. I've never seen Galaxy Quest, but it does sound both funny and entertaining. And I love any garden any time of the year!
ReplyDeleteMy son-in-law did the stick on in their PA home and I didn't know it wasn't real tile until I got up close. It looked great, but he is super handy so not sure how challenging it is. I will ask Daughter2. I haven't seen Galaxy Quest in a long time, but we liked it. Hope you're doing well!
ReplyDeleteGalaxy Quest! I have that on DVD also and enjoy it often.
ReplyDeleteMay is also Pamela Birth Month. Just sayin' ... *giggle*
Fun post. xx
Hi Terri: A new Mexican restaurant opened in a very small town next to us, population 185, the place is busy from open to close, we will be there on Friday.
ReplyDeleteNever seen Galaxy, I am a fan of Star Wars, I am going to sit out on the front porch drink coffee and read its finally warm.

I've looked at the stick on backsplashes, there are some pretty ones out there. Like you, I don't want anything that would not stick, really stick!!! Good luck on this venture, keep us in the loop. Maybe a picture or two when you're done!
ReplyDeletePlease post pictures of your kitchen refresh!!
ReplyDeleteOh a kitchen refresh sounds good (we recently got ours repainted) No experience of the stick on splash back though. You sounds like the same sort of gardener as me Terri lol.
