Two Black Cadillacs
Saturday 9: Two Black Cadillacs (2011)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) This week's song is about two women who share a very dark secret. Are you good at keeping secrets? Pretty good. Depends on who, what, when...
2) Carrie Underwood's favorite author is Stephen King. In fact, she credits King's Christine as an inspiration for this song. Have you read much Stephen King, or seen movies based on his books? I used to read all of his books but got tired of them a long time ago. I think I've seen a movie or two but don't remember. It got so the "outline" was the same - just different names and different gore.
3) Carrie first came to America's attention when she won on American Idol. Prior to competing on that show, she'd never been on an airplane. Crazy Sam takes at least one round-trip flight every year and pays using the miles she accumulated from credit card purchases throughout the year. Do you try to earn miles, points, or cash back when you make purchases? Cash back.
4) Black is this week's signature color because November 25 was Black Friday, when retailers historically have slashed their prices and the holiday shopping season begins. Have you begun your gift shopping? I have a couple of little things and a few in the works.
5) Black Friday began as a local event initiated by store owners in Philadelphia back in the early 1960s. When you think of Philadelphia, what comes to mind? Joe. That's where he is from.
6) Black Friday always comes after Thanksgiving, a day of feasting. What was the best dish at your holiday table this year? I didn't have a holiday table but had delicious leftover pork loin and sides. Crockpot meals last three days for me, usually, if not more.

7) Thanksgiving is also a big day for watching football. Did you watch any games? Nope. I watched a few movies.
8) What are you thankful for this year? Faith, Family, Friends, Job...
9) Random question: You're in a public restroom and have a choice between paper towels and a hot air hand dryer. Which do you choose? Paper towels.
Peace & hugs!
Praise God from Whom all blessings flow!!

We watched some movies too, after I watched the backside of my eyes for a bit! lol
ReplyDeleteLOLOL at Cathy's comment--I might have looked at the backside of my eyeballs too. Have a beautiful day, friend.
ReplyDeleteWhat a nice uplifting tune! Other than that... :) It has that holiday flavor..have a great day!
ReplyDeleteGosh, I've not read Stephen King since the 70's. Sad to say, I think I've outgrown that particular form of entertainment.
ReplyDeleteWe, too, use the card that gives cash back. In turn, at year's end I turn that into gift cards for my grands. Love me some crockpot meals!
Wishing you a sweet weekend doing whatever you want!
Mom and my stepdad were here so we watched a Dirty Jobs marathon. I know know that today's commercially raised turkeys are too far to mate...and how to artificially inseminate them. Yep.
ReplyDeleteYour dinner sounds yummy! I watched a couple Hallmark movies that day. Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend.

Yes to the paper towels. Sometimes the air in the dryer is cold and then it really takes a long time to get the hands dry.
ReplyDeleteYes also to the paper towels when available. I agree with Barbara's answer on that. We've started watching Escape to the Chateau again...the new season. I think you told me about that show first. We love hearing them laugh. I've never been a fan of Stephen King novels or movies. He lives in Maine, not far from where we used to live, and our son Scott worked at a restaurant where SK used to come frequently. He said he looked like an ordinary Maine guy to him. I think those long cold winter nights probably contributed to his novel ideas. LOL. It was too much for me to live there all winter, hence here we are. LOL. I enjoyed your answers, and am glad you are better. I am getting better, but will probably stay home from church tomorrow as I am still coughing a bit and don't need to be coughing in church. Take care my friend. God bless you.
ReplyDeletePaper towels - always! I heard not long ago that those air dryers only spread germs and (yuck!) fecal matter around the restroom. Who wants that???
ReplyDeleteFaith, family, friends, and health - what more can one be thankful for?
Blessings, Terri!
