Lakeland has a new park that just opened a couple of weeks ago. It has been in the works for about seven years. The land belonged to Lakeland Tile and there was remediation done because of chemical contamination. That took a couple of years. Now it is the lovely Bonnet Springs Park. I went after work on Wednesday to check it out.
Here are some pictures I took. I'm looking forward to sharing the park with any visitors who come. There are walking and running trails, trams to take if you aren't into walking, playgrounds, a tree house, a butterfly house, a couple of restaurants, and a bar. There will soon be paddle boats on the lagoon. Click here for the website!
The visitor center, gift shop, and coffee shop.
It is lovely now and will be even lovelier when the plants and flowers grow and mature!
Thanks for your visit!!
God is so good!!

Florida has so much going for it. Quality of life.

ReplyDeleteHow picturesque! I'd love to take a turn on that giant slide. Kudos to Lakeland for providing this alternative to pricey, over-crowded theme parks!
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful park, Terri! I love hearing stories about land being reclaimed and put to such positive use. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteThat looks really lovely and interesting! I would enjoy visiting there too. Doesn't look too crowded yet! I guess people haven't found it yet. I love all the natural beauty. I hope it stays like that!
