Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 468

From this Side of the Pond

1. July 6th is National Fried Chicken Day...are you a fan?  Oh my goodness, yes! Do you make your own or have a favorite place to buy from?  Publix has delicious fried chicken so why make a mess at home?  Do you own chickens?  Nope.  If not chicken what's your favorite fried food?  Fried most anything is good!!  LOL

2.  What's something you're too chicken to try?  Bugs.  I hope I never have to eat a bug.

3. When did you last find yourself running around like a 'chicken with its head cut off'?  Gosh, I can't even remember.  I work very hard to not be in stressful situations anymore.  Proper planning...

4. Something you've done recently that makes you think 'I'm no spring chicken'Ha!!  Just getting up most mornings!!  As mentioned in #3, I work hard to not be in physically stressful situations, either!

5. 'Winner winner chicken dinner'...tell us about something good that's happened in your life lately.   I got a raise at work that started July 1!! That's good!!  My friend Shirley and I are traveling down to Palmetto to see our friend, Cindee this Saturday!!

6. Insert your own random thought here.  My go-to meal lately has been taco salad.  I know I'm going to be sick of it (soon, probably) but it is so easy to do and it fits in with low-carb.  I cook the pound of ground beef and have it for two days.  So good, especially when I add jalapeno peppers!!   Do you have a favorite go-to meal?

Peace & hugs!!

  1. Oh, I'm a planner and a list maker, too. (Chaos is not my friend, lol.) Congrats on that well-deserved raise! Taco salads are delicious, and so easy to 'accessorize' with different ingredients. It's not low-carb, but I always like to eat the bowl when it's absorbed all the good grease. 😋

  4. Congrats on the raise! My go-to is usually a cobb salad made using rotisserie chicken. Easy and no oven required on these hot and humid days!

  6. I love taco salads too. Often I make taco meat for burritos for one night, then we have the taco salads until the meat runs out. I do the same with chili, which is pretty much the same, except I put the beans in it. Oh, congratulations on your raise!! That's wonderful! I know you are loving your job! And your trip with your friend sounds like a lot of fun. And yes, Publix fried chicken is the best ever!

  7. I absolutely adore Danny's fried chicken when he makes it. Since that's not too often, I'll settle for a Chick-fil-A original sandwich. :) Great news about your raise, Terri! I know that will be helpful to your budget, especially in these stressful economic times.
    Blessings!
