Well, the rain got in the way but Shirley and I had a really nice visit with Cindee and her husband, Rick. We weren't able to go on a boat ride because of the weather but we were served a delicious lunch with brownies and ice cream for dessert. We called our friends, Heather and Terry, and were able to let them know we missed them and were able to catch up on their news too. We drove in and out of the rain on the way there and on the way home but the traffic was lite and we still made good time. Rick took our picture...
On Sunday, I went to church and did some laundry in the afternoon. I baked a cake and iced it for a birthday celebration at work today. Not much else got done other than sitting in my happy place watching some TV and catching up with all of you.

Sounds like a wonderful visit and what a lovely spot. They certainly are right on the water, looks like literally! Wow! That is quite a view! Is that the Gulf or a lake? So glad you were able to go in spite of the rain. We had some good rain here too, which was much needed. Oh, I bet your cake is beautiful! Do you still decorate them when you bake cakes for birthdays? Would love to see it! I'm sure the birthday person will appreciate it!! Have a wonderful week.
ReplyDeleteThey live on a little bay that is on the Gulf. No, I don't decorate much anymore. It is messy and time consuming... plus I don't want to start making cakes again on demand.
DeleteLove this!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad you had a good visit despite the weather. The showers have just popped up out of nowhere. I hiked yesterday and saw lightening...so I hurried back to the Jeep and drove home! A short hike! lol Hope you have a good week. Photos are a fun way to capture a good visit!
ReplyDeleteOh, those views! I'd want that to be my master bedroom. Then again, it looks a bit vulnerable to hurricane winds and high tides. (I'm sure your friends already have measures in place for that possibility?). Have a super day!
ReplyDeleteTheir house is on stilts. They have an elevator from the carport to the front door.
DeleteSounds like a nice break.. have a wonderful day.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful visit-the views are beautiful through that window and deck! Sure wish you could send some of that rain to Texas!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a wonderful weekend!
ReplyDeleteThe room is gorgeous and the view amazing. I wonder if you get a sunrise or sunset there. Glad you had a fun visit. The rains held off here on Saturday but we should get a bunch this week or they say we will.
ReplyDeleteSunset.
DeleteAhhh... ready for bed then.
DeleteThat water view from their living room was amazing. What a neat place where they live!
ReplyDeleteRain?! Yes, we got some here (finally) but still not as much as locations south of us. More would be nice.
You made the best of your weekend, in spite of the rain. Good for you and a good example for all of us.
Oh, my, Terri, what an amazing view they have!!! Even though the rain cancelled some of your plans, I'm glad it didn't dampen your visit and the wonderful meal you all shared. Blessings to all!
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it through the rain! You all look happy together. That view is amazing!
ReplyDeleteWow-that's some water view! We've had a lot of crazy storms here too in the past week. Glad you had a nice visit with your friends!
