Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 458
2. What's your favorite bread to find in a bread basket? Soft yeast rolls, still warm, with honey butter. Yum. Like candy.
3. Your favorite chick flick? Oh gosh, there are so many. Sleepless in Seattle or While You Were Sleeping are two good ones.
4. Tax day is rapidly approaching in the US of A...what's something you currently find 'taxing'? I honestly can't think of anything that is taxing in my life right now. Blessed. I did get a tax refund this year - first time in forever. It is already in my checking account! Joe was self-employed so we always had to pay.
5. Have you ever ridden in a taxi? Do you have a funny-scary-crazy-interesting taxi story to share? Do you use any of the newer taxi-like services such as Uber? I have ridden in a taxi but I don't have any stories to share about it. I have never used Uber. It has actually been more than 35 years since I used a taxi.
6. Insert your own random thought here. I lost my cousin, Lana, this week. She is one of my cousins who I grew up with. She was only two years older than me but had an inoperable brain tumor and entered hospice care a few weeks ago. Keep her husband, Roger, in prayer if you will. He is recovering from several problems, including having been in the hospital with covid several months ago. Thanks!

Hooray for a refund! We got one, too, but it will go straight to the IRS for past tax debt. Oh well, at least it will help pay it off sooner. I'm sorry for the loss of your cousin and will be praying for her husband and family. I'm glad you will have a good Easter and have such good friends and neighbors.
ReplyDeleteI am sorry for your loss, keeping in prayer. This whole move we have done is taxing, just saying. lol
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear... so nice you have someone to spend Easter with... :)
ReplyDeleteA brain tumor - - what a scary thing for the family to experience. So sorry for the earthy loss for her loved ones.
ReplyDeleteThankful you have an Easter Dinner date on the calendar!
I am so glad you have such good neighbors!!! I am saying a prayer for your cousin's husband. Please keep our Jason (my SIL) in your prayers for his brain tumor, too. xo Diana
ReplyDeletePraying for him by name every morning.
DeleteI like your list. I'm a fan of yeast rolls too. Yum. So sorry about your cousin. In my family an inoperable brain tumor took the life of a much beloved Aunt. So sad.
ReplyDeleteLove & Blessings. xx
I seem to see a pattern in your movie choices...do you possibly need a nap? lol
ReplyDeleteSo sorry for the loss of your cousin. Take care my friend.
I'm so sorry to hear of your cousin's passing, Terri. Yes, I'll keep Roger in my prayers. Because we only get SS, I don't think we're obligated to file taxes any longer. All the same, I'll probably double check. Who wants to be on the wrong side of the IRS!
ReplyDeleteI'm working again. Sigh.
DeleteSo sorry to hear of your loss Terri. I like your film choices - I've seen both of those more than once!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear about your cousin Lana. I know that has to be so difficult for her husband, and I am praying for him and for you and for all the family. I am glad you are having Easter dinner with friends. That's so sweet of them to ask you. We will be with our kids here at the house after church. Rose bought some ribeyes when they were on sale and so Scott will grill them for us. And oh, yes! Our family always hid Easter Baskets too. We still do! We hide baskets for the kids and it is such fun watching them look for them. Even at their age!! It's the highlight of the fun part of the day. However we did have Easter egg hunts when all the younger grandchildren/cousins/etc. got together at my parent's house or at Nanny's house. That was always fun too. Now we don't have any little ones around anymore to do that. It's sad they all grow up too quickly. Have a blessed Easter. Christ Arose!!Because He lives, we too shall live!!
ReplyDeleteYes, I celebrate Easter because it is, as you said, “the very foundation of our Christian faith.” We have been invited to a neighbor’s home for dinner after morning church with another couple. I’ll be taking a large platter of deviled eggs.
ReplyDeleteFavorite chick flick? The two you listed and also “You’ve Got Mail”.
We rode a taxi in Boston years ago. More exciting than I like, but we reached our destinations unharmed.
Painting Easter eggs is our tradition, going back to my own childhood.
ReplyDeleteWhile You Were Sleeping is such a good movie!!
I'm so sorry about your cousin. I hope there are friends and loved ones there for her husband.
My taxi story happened in NYC when we went to the JFK airport to pick up Bjorn the first time he came to the States. I had never ridden in a vehicle that was going so fast in so much traffic and I truly thought we were going to meet the Lord right there on the streets of NYC.
Terri: Happy Easter: I love this Holy Season it is a time to renew our souls and dedication to Jesus Christ.
ReplyDeleteHave a beautiful Easter
Catherine
