Dancing in the Moonlight
Welcome to Saturday: 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9
questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so to speak. We encourage you to visit other participants' posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love to answer the questions, however, and here is today's questions!

Saturday 9: Dancing in the Moonlight (1972)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) The lyrics tell us the moon is big and bright. Do you often take the time to watch the sunset or look at the moon? I am rarely outside for a sunrise or a sunset, but when I am, I do take time to watch the beauty and also to photograph it.
2) The lead singer of King Harvest, Dave "Doc" Robinson, tells us that everyone feels "warm and right." How would you describe your mood as you answer these 9 questions? I am doing this on Friday evening and I'm feeling pretty good because the week is done and I don't have to set my alarm in the morning.
3) He sings that his friends don't bark or bite. What about you? Is your bark worse than your bite? I don't bark very often but when I am moved to raise my voice it is definitely worse than my bite. I have mellowed in my old age.
4) He believes you be unhappy when you dance. Do you agree? My dancing might make those watching unhappy but if I'm dancing it's because I am happy, not unhappy.
5) King Harvest was not the only name the band used. They once performed as E. Rodney Jones and the Prairie Dogs. If you ever played in a band, tell us what it was called. If you haven't, make up a band name. I played trumpet in the Millersport Lakers Marching Band (high school).
6) Even though this was a major hit, King Harvest's record label, Perception, went bankrupt in 1974. This decade has been hard on many businesses -- especially restaurants -- and many closed their doors due to covid. Tell us about a shop or restaurant that closed recently, and that you miss. We have been blessed here in Lakeland. Not many restaurants had to close (none that I can remember) but our Golden Corral closed recently and is going to be an Aldi which is good news as far as I"m concerned. I wasn't a Golden Corral fan.
7) This very upbeat song came from pain. While vacationing in St. Croix, songwriter Sherman Kelly was the victim of a vicious gang attack and was left for dead. He wrote this song during his long recuperation and it helped him envision joy. Is there a song that reliably lifts your mood? (Yes, you can say this song. Mr. Kelly is right, it IS joyful!) Clap along...
8) In 1972, when this song topped the charts, Wrangler jeans were America's best-selling blue jeans. Do you often wear denim? As often as I can. I'm blessed that denim is welcome at my part-time job and I love wearing it.
9) Random question: Which of these is completely, 100% UNTRUE of you: Greedy, lazy, or jealous? I don't think I am greedy or jealous. I am lazy a good part of the time and procrastinate when I shouldn't. Let's see how much cleaning I get done today, for instance.

Peace & hugs!

Not a fan of the Golden Corral either; one of these days I'm going to have to visit an Aldi. I'm so thankful you recommended I look at stretch denim jeans! Is that you on the 3rd row center with a big grin on your face?
ReplyDeleteClapping!
Myra, if you enlarge the band photo, I tagged myself. Fourth row down from the top on the right-hand side of the picture.
DeleteNow that song was an oldie mouldie... :)
ReplyDeleteHahahaha! I doubt I get much cleaning done today. I am relaxing. Loved your answers! Have a nice weekend.

Such a great, uplifting song! That it comes from a place of pain is even more amazing, Terri. And I have to say that I wear jeans every single day - works for me!
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
Lazy? What's that?! *lol* I can't stand to be still but I am terribly good at frittering away a few hours on the 'net. These things are time suckers, aren't they?! *giggle*
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed your answers. Have a wonderful rest of the weekend!
Blessings xx
Like you, I often wear denim. It goes with just about everything, holds up well, and is comfortable.
ReplyDeleteGreedy, lazy, or jealous? I don't think I'm jealous.
Hmmm, I wear denim in the fall and winter, but summertime I'm wearing some knit capris that are stretchy and comfy. (and no zippers or buttons!) I like simple clothes that I can get in and out of easily! LOL. I don't see you as being lazy one bit. You went back to work after retirement! That's not lazy! I know I couldn't do that...but I guess if I felt I had to I would try. I'm happy you found such a good place to work and that they appreciate you as much as you appreciate them! That's a win-win! Can't wait to see you soon!
ReplyDeleteI am sooooo late getting around today. I hope you had a good day and a productive one. lol
