#460 Hodgepodge Questions
1. What does the word values mean to you personally? Without giving it too much thought, the first things that come to mind were morality, integrity, respect, and trust. Where did your values come from? My parents but also just living life and paying attention to what matters. What are some of the values that have guided you throughout your life? The same ones mentioned above and also faith in the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
2. Your favorite vanilla flavored something? Sugar cookies, perhaps. I'm more into chocolate!! LOL
3. What's something you've seen/done recently that you found to be very difficult, very confusing, very helpful, very interesting, or very special. Elaborate. It was a few months ago but having to say goodbye to my very sweet Lucy kitty was very difficult. We know losing a pet is never easy, but we also know when it is time to end their pain for them. They trust us to do that, I think. She knew it was time and so did I. It is still always difficult.
4. Something you own and love that is violet in color? As much as I love purples, I don't have anything that comes to mind, closet or shelves, that is violet. Perhaps I need to go shopping!!
5. Do you have vacation plans on the calendar this summer? Not really. Tell us more. I have a couple of family visits planned but (as much as I love family) visiting family really isn't a vacation. To ME, a vacation is a nice hotel, meals in restaurants, all in a fun and/or beautiful location. It's been a while and will be a while.
6. Insert your own random thought here. The wife on one of my coworkers has some serious health issues and on top of that, she just lost her mom. My coworker came in on Monday with some ceramic cat things that were her mom's. They don't have cats - they have dogs, so she asked him to see if I wanted these things that were dear to her mom. Of course I said yes, and then found a windowsill in the den/craft room where they can reside. I was touched that she thought of me. They look cute in their new home.
PS... so sorry to have gotten behind in visiting your posts. Small group was last night and I just didn't get to everyone. I will catch up today!! xo

The cats are so cute and perfect for you! I hope your day is a good one!
ReplyDeleteThat was really nice of that gal to give you those kitties. It is SO HARD to lose a beloved pet. After I lost my Misty I did not have a pet for many years. I just didn't want to go through the loss again. Now I have my Scruffy and can't imagine life without him...although when he is naughty I think about it. lol. xo Diana
ReplyDeleteOh, I love those cats Terri! I am not sure what or how I will handle Coffee (our German Shep) passing on he is/was Liam's dog--the last link to him (does that make sense?)...just thinking about it, makes me want to break down, I simply understand...sending you much love and hugs.
ReplyDeleteThe only problems with our pets is knowing the end is near and going through it. My cat made 23... my vet said the oldest she ever had... at the time about half my life she had been a part of it....
ReplyDeleteWouldn't your co-worker's MIL be pleased to know her kitties are in a nice home where they're appreciated! I agree 100% with your definition of a good vacation.
ReplyDeleteWhat a thoughtful gift those cats are, Terri! And yes, I must agree that putting a beloved pet down is so difficult. If you posted about this previously, I must have missed it somehow.
ReplyDeleteBefore grandchildren, I would have agreed with you that vacations are NOT visits with family. The whole dialogue has made a seismic shift. :)
Blessings!
gosh, those cats look real! Really sweet of them to think of you. I know you will enjoy them. I am sorry about your sweet Lucy. I know you must miss her. And yes, "vacations" to visit relatives is the only kind of vacation we ever had when our kids were little, because we lived so far away from home and had to come home to see the grandparents, etc. for holidays. We tried to take a real vacation a couple of times, and I think we succeeded once or twice, but I guess our kids really didn't mind coming to the grandparents' homes when they could. They always made the boys feel special!!! (and spoiled them). LOL. We could use a real vacation, but with the cost of gas and everything else, plus John just really doesn't enjoy driving that much and doesn't enjoy MY driving either, so I doubt we'll go far. I'm taking a mini vacation to Ocala on Saturday to meet some very special friends....can't wait!!!!
ReplyDeleteI’m definitely more into chocolate too. lol Those kittens are very cute.
ReplyDeletethose cats look so cute but yes saying goodbye to pets is sooo hard.
ReplyDeleteWhen I think of values, I can't help but think of my dad's favorite verse, "He has shown thee oh man what is good, and what does the Lord require of thee but to do justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with thy God?" Micah 6:8 My dad was a man of integrity and strong commitment to God and His family. He was a hard worker, and I always knew I was loved. I miss my parents so much, learned so much to help me through life but their legacy lives on.
ReplyDeleteI like vanilla ice-cream and a little vanilla in my oatmeal.
I don't have many violet color clothes, maybe some with violet in them. I have a violet dress in a closet I love but it's too small
So sorry about your Lucy. It's hard to lose a pet
Those cats look very cute in the window
That is a very nice look of the cats in the window! As for vanilla, I like vanilla ice cream and vanilla candles.
