Tuesday 4...

 Tuesday 4

March Weather or Not!

Welcome back to another Tuesday 4 in honor of Toni Taddeo, its founder.

They say March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb. Sometimes it is the reverse.  March has a lot of happenings like March 1st the start of Mardi Gras, the 13th is Daylight Savings Time, the Ides of March on the 15th, St Patrick's Day on the 17th, the first day of  Spring on the 20th this year   March 29-31 are the "borrowing days" when weather is traditionally rough or stormy.

1.  Do you celebrate Mardi Gras or St. Patrick's Day and how do you celebrate them?  Sometimes I make sure to get corned beef and cabbage for St. Pat's Day - usually in the form of a Reubin sandwich, however.  I do not celebrate Mardi Gras but won't turn down a piece of King Cake.

2. Do you decorate for the spring in any way at all?  I had some Valentine's Day decorations out last month and have switched them for St. Pat's Day.  Not much, but a little here and there...

3. Daylight savings time doesn't make the day longer.  Experts say it puts kids' heath at risk as well as contributes to heart problems for adults.   Arizona and Hawaii don't change times.     It began as "wartime" so war workers in WW2 could come home in the light.    What about you though? Are you happy to see it return or not?
I loathe the changes in time.  Standard time should be the standard.  If Arizona and Hawaii can stay we all need to stay.

4. How has the weather been in your neck of the woods as March approaches.  What would be your ideal weather?  We have had two weeks of lovely weather in the mid-80s during the day and in the 60s at night. Perfection!!  Florida is usually ideal for me, thank you very much!  There is no place I would rather be!

Peace & hugs!
God's love is steadfast!
Count on it!!

  1. Amen! God's love is steadfast...and yes, we can count on Him!! And I agree, I love living in Florida. I wouldn't mind escaping some of the heat in the summer and I would love to do a nice fall trip up north, but I want to be back here before the snow flies! LOL. We are blessed to live in the best state of the country, I think! Must be true...everyone wants to come here! LOL. And I agree with you about the time change. I do wish they'd just leave it alone!! Hope you are having a good week!!

  2. So, I was wondering (being silly, lol) do you put a green ribbon on Pink Floyd? I told Dave you had a flamingo, and he goes, 'No, Linda, we're not putting out a flamingo." LOLOLOLOL

    1. Pink Floyd actually went to Flamingo heaven a couple of years ago, but I did decorate him for the holidays. Now, I just have a flamingo garden decoration that doesn't really allow me to dress it up. Italians and pink flamingos in Florida go together, however!! LOL

  3. I so wish the time would stay the same, too, Terri. It always takes me at least a week to fully adjust, and that's just too much time invested!
And I do love me a good Reuben sandwich. That's a great idea to have one on St. Patrick's Day.
    Blessings!

  4. I wish the government would stop changing the time. It's archaic, unnecessary and ridiculous. I read a report where accidents increase during the time change. Well, duh.
While I'm not a fan of Valentines Day I do enjoy St. Patty's. Steve and I celebrate 'cause it's our First Date Anniversary. For me that's when our life together actually began.
    Blessings. xx

  5. How cute is your lava cat?! Looks like he/she's already had too much of that green beer. (LOL)
The time change doesn't affect me so much, but the dogs take a week or more to adjust.

  7. I like your cat!
It made 45 here today, but snow is coming again tomorrow. I'm glad we made it to March.
I hate Daylight Savings Time. I don't know anyone who likes it...

  8. I agree about the standard time. While the change itself doesn't make any difference to me...the day is the same length no matter which end the daylight is on...I do hate that first day of changing the clocks and readjusting sleep patterns. I hated it when I had small kids. It always made a mess of their sleep habits for weeks. It had the same effect on the dementia residents. It messes with the pets, too. I enjoyed your answers, Terri. Sorry I am so late getting around. That should change after next week and the end of my job.

  9. Oh yes Florida is beautiful! We were so blessed to have perfect weather when we were there to enjoy all the lovely scenery and places. While we were there it was only 32 degrees at home and when we got home the weather warmed up. Today will be 69 and sunny , beautiful for here. We brought home some Florida sunshine.
I joke about St Patricks day because my husband Pat has a little Irish in him. He is my St Patrick lol.
I like to decorate for changes in seasons and holidays too.
I took some of my bright pillows out with colorful birds, I need to work on more.
