I rarely get a chance to photograph Lilly
but this one turned out pretty good!

Her ear is clipped because she was feral.
This one is Vinny relaxing on my lap.
My American Flag has torn. The wind is wicked out there and I have a new one
to install this weekend. The third one in a year. One of our residents
collects torn/worn flags and donates them to a Veterans group that
sees that they are cremated with Veterans. I didn't think to do that for Joe.
Quite a few of us fly the flag. There are a half dozen just on my street.
Last night, the Mas Verde group went to Miller's for dinner.
There were 20 of us. We discovered four more couples
from MV eating there on the way out and stopped to chat. We call them the New Yorker Group
since they are all from NY. They are also the group that plays Nickels on Fridays.
Everyone is busy reading the menu!
That's my squinty face with Jill in the black sweater
and Virginia in the white sweater.
I am happy to have nothing on the calendar for today (after work) or for tomorrow! I am planning to see Helen on the way home, though. Sunday, after church, Jill has invited me for lunch with them and she invited Susan and Chuck, too. It is also Potluck Sunday at church so I will miss that but spending time with dear friends who have sold their house and will be leaving in a few weeks is important. There will be another potluck next month.
Peace & hugs!
God's love is steadfast!
So glad your new phone and camera are now both working, and looking good!! Love to see you out with your friends and having a great time! God is good. And yes, our American flag ripped from the wind and weather (although we only put it out when the weather is good...take it in when it rains). I ordered us a new one online for Christmas. It didn't come and didn't come so I picked up a cheap one at Walmart. The place where I ordered the other one contacted me and said it was delayed too long and they would refund my money, which they did. About two days later the flag showed up in the mail! LOL. So I got it for free, and it is a much better quality flag than the cheap nylon one. I hope that it will hold up longer. I gave the other one to the kids to use. I never heard of having old flags cremated with veterans. I have another old one that is torn that I should give to the VFW I guess. I will ask a veteran. Thank you for that info. Take care and have a wonderful weekend and a good visit with Helen today.
ReplyDeleteYay for the phone and camera working! Love the pics. I need to get a new American flag. I only have small ones right now.
ReplyDeleteBlessings. xx
Hooray for a working phone camera! I did so enjoy your photos today, Terri. And I never realized that fact about respectfully retiring an American flag once it has seen better days. That's something I'll remember.
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend!
Glad your phone is up and running..... golly, what a story on that one!
ReplyDeleteSuper photos, Terri! Glad your new phone and camera are working the way they should be. Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat an awesome expression on Lucy's face! That's sure interesting to know about the veterans' flag initiatives ... I love that! I hope your weekend is wonderfully relaxing!
ReplyDeleteNothing on the calendar for today or tomorrow here, either, though I need to go to the store soon and get that done before I have Colton and Leah for the afternoon...and before the weather starts getting bad. We're under a winter storm warning for Saturday and Sunday. Aw, look at Lilly's big eyes and Vinny all cozied up. Love the kitties. Have a wonderful weekend, Terri!
ReplyDeleteGlad your phone and camera are working. I enjoy the photos. It looks like your group had a great time, love the smiles. It is cold and now snowy here. We stayed inside most of the day. I feel so lazy
ReplyDeleteYay! You got your phone and camera working! So glad you got to spend time with friends. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad your phone camera is working well again! Your pictures of the kitties are great!
ReplyDeleteHooray for a working camera!
ReplyDeleteYou have such pretty cats.
Glad you had more fun with friends.
I love the idea of the flag with the ashes.
So glad you got the camera and phone sorted! We had a crazy wind storm yesterday, there were white caps on the lake which never ever happens. Glad you're having fun with friends.
ReplyDeleteMost of the people in our neighborhood fly a flag, too. During football season, the flags sometimes change to an SEC team and sometimes people fly a seasonal flag like Halloween. We had a pirate flag one year for Halloween.
