Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 456
2. If you could turn back time and relive just one day in your life, which day would you choose and why? I can't answer this question. I truly don't want to go back in time to relive anything. Joys and sorrows were what they were. Each day lived brought me to where I am today and I don't want to change anything. I miss Joe every day, but God is in control. I am trusting in Him.
3. Something you enjoy making that takes a long time to prepare/cook? Letting the pasta sauce (gravy!) cook all day but it isn't hard to prepare. Actually, if it takes a long time to prepare, I'm not doing it. I like to cook but prefer to not make it an all-day process.
4. A time recently where you needed/gave yourself a 'time out'? How do you do that? Gosh, Covid gave most of us permission to become slug-like (me, anyway) and I am still employing those lessons learned most afternoons and evenings! LOL I have been dreaming of a vacation but right now it is just a dream.
5. Something you've done recently that you'd describe as a 'good time'? Out to dinner with friends is always a good time and I had several of those last week, and my church small group is meeting here at my house tonight. Also always a good time.
6. Insert your own random thought here. Well, I'm whining again. I pulled a muscle in my left thigh and am so mad at myself. I was looking for something in a lower cupboard. I don't get on the floor easily because it hurts to get on my artificial knees, to get up. SO, I was in a half squat bending over (upside down!) pulling things out. I felt something go wrong and could hardly walk. I had to pull out my old cane and needed it to get around (and to work). The muscle is in a knot. I've been icing it and putting cream on it. It is much better tonight (writing this on Tuesday evening) so I'm pretty sure it is just a pulled muscle but it sure does hurt. Whaaaaaa. The stupid things that happen.

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh Terri, every single day I have to get down and up for work...and let me tell you...2 more days...I am just done with places hurting etc. (grin)
ReplyDeleteI couldn't do this meme today...#2 is just too raw at the moment...and made me cry.
Wishing you a beautiful day friend. See you soon!
My friend I totally understand your pain and cause of it. I cannot get on my 'new' knees either and every time I bend down or over, I fear falling and doing the damage you did. My prayers are for less pain and healing. xoxoxo
ReplyDeleteA pulled muscle: OUCH!! Been there, done that. I pray that feeling goes away soon.
ReplyDeleteOnce Upon A Time I was a dancer. Somehow through all the illness and surgeries, I've kept up my stretching. I can no longer dance but am pleased that I can still touch my toes whilst keeping my knees straight. 'Course, losing that 35-40 lbs. in my tummy area helped too. Sugar is so deadly for our health.
It's fixin' to rain here. I hope your day is sunny and easy.
Blessings. xx
I know you will miss your friends.
ReplyDeleteI love your blog
In this area of Florida, the prices go down when the snowbirds go home.in 2020 when son started looking for a condo for me…or a house…prices were so so much. I have lived 31 places and other than NYC and California (family) I have never seen prices as they are here…one reason we always vacationed in SC (and I lived there five years)…cost…finally on 2021… a break…the condo still expensive…I have been here one year this month and am adjusting…I have to have ground floor and no steps…love the area…love it but mercy…the cost of homes in Florida and taxes on homes…oh well the beautiful weather is worth it…I KNOW other states are expensive so e also, but one must wonder with all the retirees why things are not less here…gas because of the world situation has nothing to do with it of course…enjoy your weekend and your many friends…you are so sociable…y
U are also an amazing strong woman…prayers…I know you miss your husband…
I hate when that happens! But you moving around and staying on the go will probably help. I hope it does anyway! It's always something...as I say. Take care my friend. Hugs, Diane

ReplyDeleteIt is crazy how one small move can cause so much pain. I think I have moved way too much furniture the past few weeks. I think we are officially done with that, so hopefully my own body can hear up. The only all day cooking I like is when it is in a crockpot and I don't have to do anything to it.
I enjoyed your answers. So sorry you hurt your leg. I'll say a prayer for you. Have fun at your dinner.
ReplyDeleteHave fun with your dinner.. hope you feel better...
ReplyDeleteOuchie! I, too, have discovered how easy it is to hurt myself just doing life at home.
ReplyDeleteAs far as cooking? If anything takes a long time it ain't happening!
I hope your dinner was great fun!
Owie! I hope by now your leg is better and that you had a wonderful time with your friends. I know getting down on my knees is getting harder and harder, If I do get down, I can't get back up. And yes, it's so easy to get a cramp or pulled muscle without even trying. It's no fun getting old! I hope you are having a great time with your friends. I hope they help you clean up too so you don't have to stay on that leg too long. Take care my friend.
ReplyDeleteOh, boy, Terri! I certainly hear you about the pain in your leg. I still have to be ever so careful about how I move, bend or take the stairs, especially now with Danny out of town. It takes such a long time to recover from pneumonia, and being older doesn't make it easier in the least.
ReplyDeleteCooking is Danny's department, so as you can imagine, I'm living on simple meals and leftovers while he's in New Mexico to attend his son's graduation from Airmen Leadership School. So proud of Giovanni!
Blessings!
Love your answers but sorry you hurt your leg. It is so hard not to be mobile and deal with waiting for things to heal. I hope you have a great night! xo Diana
ReplyDeleteYou are not a whiner! I will be praying that your leg improves.
ReplyDeleteYou are so realistic about accepting the harder things of life. This is a good lesson for us all.
ReplyDeleteSorry about your muscle thing. I've bruised my tailbone recently. We just cope as best we can as we continue with those harder things of life.
BTW, I've had out of town company this week, so my blog reading and commenting has suffered. I hope to catch up this weekend.
Love and Hugs!
I wish I’d get more in a cleaning mood then I almost enjoy it 😂I should clean more on these cold dreary days we started having again but the weird thing is I do better cleaning on sunny days, sure hope your pulled muscle heals soon ❤️
ReplyDeleteI'm so sorry about your pulled muscle. Hope it heals quickly. About 2 months ago, I slipped on a patch of ice on my back patio, and in the scramble to keep from taking a face-plant on the concrete, I ended up pulling a muscle in my thigh. I've been seeing a massage therapist every 3 weeks since then, and it is helping.
ReplyDeleteSorry for your injury. Maybe a massage would help loosen it up? I enjoy some cleaning tasks but not all. Fortunately my hubs does some of those. He loves to vacuum : )
ReplyDeleteOuch!! I feel like the older I get, the easier it is to injure something! Hope it loosens up soon!!
