It has been a very nice week having my dear friends, Elaine and Jim, here with me and we have another week ahead! They are having dinner with friends of theirs north of here tonight so I am dog-sitting Bella and I have some extra time to write a quick post. I will just share some pictures...
Wednesday was the one-year anniversary of Joe's passing. Jim and Elaine came to my workplace around 11:00 that day and they got to meet my boss and one co-worker, Paolo. My boss, Danon, took us all out on a tour and it was great fun! He is so knowledgeable about Tenoroc - he has been there since the beginning. He could take us into areas others don't get to see.
Elaine and I were in the backseat of Danon's truck.
After our tour was done, we left there to head for home. On the way, we stopped at the cemetery to pay a visit to Joe's earthly remains. Jim and Elaine were there with me at the internment last year but hadn't seen the marker yet. Second verticle row and second horizontal as well. D'Orsaneo... I will be there one day too.
I am doing okay. Everyone is asking if I'm okay. Yes, I am. I know where Joe is and that we will meet again someday. I miss him but a year is a kind of marker, isn't it. I have been wearing Joe's wedding ring on my right hand since taking it off of his finger at the hospital. It is now in my jewelry box, next to mine. I needed to do something meaningful, on my own, and that was what I did. I am making it on my own. I am happy and my friends and family keep me busy and engaged. Joe will always live in my heart and the blessings I had with him still bless me. Oh my goodness, I am so blessed.
Elaine and I have been sharing cooking duties. We went to Fish City Grill on Jim's birthday (Valentine's Day). It was good!
Tomorrow (Saturday) we are driving up to Ocala, to visit the amazing World Equestrian Center. Elaine and Jim both requested the trip up there. AND... we are meeting up with Barbara (Sweet Tea & Sandals) and her Heartthrob!! What fun!! I will have more pictures to share on Monday!!
I apologize for being absent from your posts but I will catch up when my company heads for home. Just taking a break to be with my dear friends. Love you all, too!! xo
...and SOON you will be visiting us in Ocala as well, grin. I get that question all the time; How are you doing? And I am not going to lie, but sometimes I just want to say HOW DO YOU THINK I AM DOING? I know folks mean well etc. But then again, it's only been 2 months since Liam passed on...but I am afraid the pain and sorrow are still there and still raw. Just keeping it real.---don't mind me Terri, I have been pretty snappy lately--I am just ready to get going and I am done with NY, period. SOON
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a beautiful weekend, say hi to Barbara and Heartthrob, grin.
Gary and I greatly look forward to seeing you today!!!!
ReplyDeleteYou have certainly come a long way in a year's time, Terri. Have fun with Barbara, Hearthrob, Jim and Elaine this weekend! Friendships are certainly to be treasured, my friend.

Happy belated birthday to Jim! That cake looks SO good!
ReplyDeleteGotta say, your boss' body language tells me he's passionate about what he does. Nice!
Have yourselves a great day!
This just gives me all the feels, Terri! It is so great seeing you so happy and so content in your life. You have found a great balance of missing and honoring Joe and making the most of your life as you move forward. I am just so happy your life is so full and blessed with good things and good friends!
ReplyDeleteTerri...so glad that you are doing so well. Also, happy that you are enjoying work and it sounds like your boss is very appreciative. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteTerri, your faith and positive attitude are very inspiring. I know that you miss Joe, but your faith is carrying you through---as are good friends. What a blessing that Jim and Elaine have been with you this past week.
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Patti

ReplyDeleteOh I love this post so much! I love seeing more of your work "neighborhood" and that you all had such a fun tour. I love that you and your friends are having a great time together. I know this was a difficult week for you, but how wonderful that God sent Jim and Elaine (& Bella) to be there with you and help you get through it. Oh, I am so happy you got to meet Barbara and "Heartthrob" yesterday! I can't wait to hear all about that from both of you!!! I was busy yesterday with our family outing, so I missed this post. so glad I found it today!! I am very proud of you...you've done well even though it has been a very hard year. We know God is the reason you've done so well. He's been there helping you each step of the way...and He will continue to be there for you every day. God bless you my friend. (((hugs)))
