The Wednesday Hodgepodge...

Thank you, Joyce, for today's Hodgepodge!  Y'all can be a Hodgepodger HERE!

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 450

From this Side of the Pond

1. The Wednesday Hodgepodge landing on Groundhog's Day sounds about right. Besides the Hodgepodge what else lands on your calendar just once a week? Is it as much fun as the Hodgepodge-ha!?  Well, Joyce, the Hodgepodge is hard to beat each week and includes ALL of the answers from other Hodgepodgers!!  I do, however, go out to eat with friends from my little community here every Thursday evening and it is always fun and tasty.

2. The Winter Olympics begin on Friday, surrounded by much controversy. Will you be watching?  Yes, some of it.  Why or why not?  The winter events are always my favorite and I want to watch to support our USA athletes. Have you ever been to China?  No, and it is not a place I have ever thought about visiting.

3. Something in your life lately that has felt a bit like an 'Olympic event'?  Getting Joe's office area reorganized but I'm heading for a silver medal, I think.

4. Do you like fondue?  It's just okay.  Sweet or savory? Probably sweet, as in chocolate.  Restaurant only or do you own your own fondue set?  I haven't had a fondue set for over 35 years.  I know they are making a bit of a come-back.  Dipping morsels into melted whatever has never appealed to me that much.

5. Give us five short (2-3 word) phrases to sum up your January.

Always blessed.
Call me Procrastinator.
Getting it done.
Excited about company.
Still so blessed!

6. Insert your own random thought here.  I read an article written by Christine Suhan titled "Dear Christians, Stop Saying Everything Happens for a Reason". She writes for Faith It.  I posted a bit of it on Facebook today but found the entire article to link here. It is brilliant. I am guilty of thinking and saying "everything happens for a reason" and now I have a better understanding.  Save it to read later, but please read it!!

Peace & hugs!
God is SO GOOD!

  2. I got rid of our fondue set a few years ago that we'd had since the 70s. Don't miss it.
I think we should get a metal for all the home improvement projects I've dreamed up lately. *lol*
Never watch the Olympics. Don't plan to ever start.
    Blessings. xx

  3. I will definitely check out that article, Terri. I'd forgotten, until you mentioned it here, that today is Groundhog Day - I'll have to check out the forecast once I leave here :).
    Have an amazing week!

  4. GReat answers Terri and I'd definitely give you a silver medal as I'm sure that was quite the undertaking. Know it feels good to have it done. Always fun to stop by and visit and blessings abundant to you!

  5. The old fondue... yes, got rid of it several decades ago... we did steak morsels in it in peanut oil... talk about working for dinner! Two hours later.... :)

  6. Interesting article. I need to think on that for a bit.

  7. We had a fondue set back when we were young married couple. Once the kids started coming along it didn't get used...just couldn't cook little pieces of meat or whatever in pan of hot grease or whatever over a sterno burner with babies and toddlers around...but it was fun while it lasted. LOL. I think you deserve a GOLD medal for all you've been through. You amaze me. I haven't read the article you posted. I guess I should, because I am probably guilty of saying that. Not sure I can be convinced otherwise, but I will see what she says. I am more inclined to believe that 'all things work together for good, to those who love Him and are called in Christ Jesus..." Romans 8:28. Even that can be hard to understand...but I still believe what it says. Anyway, I always enjoy your posts and answers. I hope you have a wonderful week.

  8. Profound, indeed! I'm going to share this link on our Bible study FB feed! I've come real close to buying another fondue set -- but I fear it will just go the way its predecessor did in the 70's. Given what Newsmax was reporting (on China being a surveillance state), I've no desire to visit China.

Great article, makes me think! I love the quotes you shared on FB.

  12. This article is excellent. It helps me to cope better with everything, especially, most especially, when the reasons are beyond me.

  13. I have stopped using that phrase, and I'll read the article. I have also stopped saying that when someone loses a job it must mean there's a better one waiting. Not all of life fits into formulas like that.
