Star or Angel? Depends on the year. Neither this year.
White Lights or Colored Lights? We have colored on this tree but I also like white.
Blinking Lights or Still Lights? Still. Blinking lights bug me after a while.
When do you open your gifts? If it is just Joe and me, Christmas eve.
Do you buy gifts for your pet? Yes!
Be honest: What's the worst gift you've ever gotten? When I was in Jr. High, a neighbor gave me a fuzzy hat,

Be honest: What's the worst gift you've ever gotten? When I was in Jr. High, a neighbor gave me a fuzzy hat,
not unlike the picture, only it was PINK. I never wore it.
Have you ever traveled for the holiday? Yes. Often.
Did you see Santa as a child? Not in a store like kids do today. No Santa photos of me.
Can you name all the reindeer? I can, but have to sing the song to do it!
Have you ever gone caroling? Years ago.
Do you drive around and look at the Christmas lights? We haven't done that in years.
Have you ever left Santa cookies? We did when I was a child.
Have you ever had a white Christmas? Many... but not in 31 years.
Have you ever made a gingerbread house from scratch? From a kit? Neither.
Be honest: Do you think the season is too commercial? Absolutely.
Imagine you were going to create the quintessential holiday soundtrack -- which song(s) absolutely must be included?
Mary, Did You Know; Hark The Herald Angels Sing; Silent Night; Oh, Holy Night; Oh Come, All Ye Faithful...
all of the old hymns.
What are your Christmas pet peeves? I don't have any Christmas pet peeves.

I never made a gingerbread house either. Some people are really talented at that. I probably won't be one of those people. LOL
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
have never traveled on Christmas; have had a white Christmas; have colored lights but not blinking ones; we open gifts on Christmas morning; 'mary did you know' is my favorite song during this season. Wishing you and Joe a Happy New Year and let's pray for a better year.
ReplyDeleteI remember those gosh-awful fuzzy hats! Those gingerbread houses can be a major mess. One of my worst memories, when my GM held a contest and I wound up with more goo on my hands and clothes than on the house. LOL.
ReplyDeleteThat hat tho! How funny. Loved your answers! Have a nice day!

We have still lights...I agree that blinking can get on your nerves or something. I like white lights but colored are pretty too. I've never made a gingerbread house either. It would probably fall apart. We used to always leave out cookies and milk for Santa and a carrot for the reindeer. He'd always write us a thank you note and leave a few crumbs. I still have the last note "Santa" ever wrote me before I left home to get married. I need to find it and share it again. Haven't been around to look at lights in a while, and I want to. It's just been cold this week and I've been too tired to go out after dark! Was that supposed to be a hat or a wig? My cousin and I had blonde fuzzy wigs like that when we were about 12 or so...We thought we looked really cool. LOL. But pink would have been something else...especially since I was a redhead. LOL. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteIt was a hat and I was 12 or 13... not cool!! LOL
DeleteI've never made a gingerbread house either. I have gone caroling and we had a white Christmas this year.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't have wanted to wear a pink hat like that either. :)
Two of my favorite travel Christmases were to Florida! When I was a teenager our family made a road trip to Lakeland, because my oldest sister and her husband and new baby (first grandchild for my parents) were there doing Voluntary Service for our church mission board.
ReplyDeleteIn 2002 we and most of our kids flew to Tampa to spend Christmas with Lisa and George.
I love Christmas caroling. We've gone the past few years with people from our church, but not this year of course.
I saw a tree video on Instagram where the lady had a string of twinkling lights with the regular lights. They intrigued me. I wonder if I would like them or not. I have plenty of time to think it over before next year.
