Sunday Stealing Questions...

Thanks to Bev Sykes for this week's questions!!  You can join in HERE!!

Misc.Questions

Stolen from Phoenix, the Blogging Mama, which is now a private blog, unfortunately

1. How has your life most benefited from the Internet? Whether it’s meeting people, cutting business overhead, finding rare collectibles, or simply sharing funny cat pictures, share how the web has made life easier.

The internet has made it much easier to be a slug, sitting on my backside with the laptop on my lap spending much too much time browsing.

2. The getaway car is waiting outside – where is it taking you?

Out to eat!! LOL

3. Do you reply to comments on your blog? All of them? Or just the really interesting ones?  Do you go back to check if the authors or the blogs you comment on reply to your comments?

I am really bad about going back to check on the comments I leave on blogs. I am happy that most comments on my blog come to email so it is easier to respond if a response is warranted.

4. On average, how long does it take you to make an important decision?

I am good at making an informed decision without too much laboring over it.

5. Do you gather a lot of information prior to making the decision, or do you go with your gut in the heat of the moment?

That depends on what the decision is about. I do trust my gut (and experience) most of the time.

6. What’s the most important thing you’ve learned recently?

It's not a new lesson, but one that hits home with surgeries, doctor appointments and dear friends who are facing cancer treatments... life is so precious.

7. What’s your hidden talent? Are you double-jointed? Can you sneeze the alphabet? Share your unique skill.

Well, my elbows are 'double-jointed' and that is why I could never stand on my hands and actually broke my arm trying when I was in 7th grade. I've never thought of it as a unique skill, however!! LOL  I can't sneeze the alphabet, but my dad could belch the alphabet -  hahaha!  I can cross my toes... how's that for talent!?

8. Rate the level of intensity you have about wanting to know God – no desire, low priority, curious, great desire, high priority, desperate to learn more. Explain your answer.

I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.  I am always desperate to learn more and will be joining a Bible Study that begins next month. I read my Bible daily, pray daily and have a daily devotional that I read each day. Great desire, high priority, and desperate to learn more all apply!!

9. What’s one of your nicknames?  How did you get that nickname?

Terri (with two Rs and an I) is my nickname for Teresa (no H).  I am also known as Mom, Grandma, and Honey or Babe.  My friend Cindee calls me Ter.

10. What do you have to have with you when you travel? Why?

We don't fly anymore unless we have to (which is rare).  Traveling in the car requires bottled water and something to snack on. We also always have gum.

11. What do you think about reading books on an electronic reading device? Do you have an electronic reading device? Do you love it? Why? If you don’t love it, why not?

I do love my Kindle Fire.  I have over 300 books that I can carry with me wherever I go.  I no longer have books to store, dust, and give away when they become too many.  I thought I would miss holding a book... I don't.

12. Do you prefer writing on paper or a keyboard? Why?

I much prefer the keyboard. It's so much easier to make corrections and edit on the keyboard.  I do admit to writing on the computer and then copying it with pen and paper so my correspondence is more personal when more than just a note is warranted.

13. If the shoes make the man (or woman), what do your shoes say about you right now? (Assuming you’re wearing shoes. Although if you’re not, that certainly says something, too.)

I live in flip-flops and sandals.

14. Describe your favorite pair of shoes.

If flip-flops don't count, I guess it would be my canvas slip-ons.

15. If you could wake up tomorrow having gained one ability or quality, what would it be?

What a loaded question!  I would like the ability to heal by touch, but would not like the notoriety that would come with it. I would not want to be mistaken for a deity, but just to eliminate pain and disease...  I'm probably thinking about this because of four friends fighting cancer right now and one losing the battle with Parkinson's Disease.  I am helpless except to pray.

Wishing you a blessed Sunday and week ahead!!  Thanks for your visit!  Peace & hugs!!

    2. Victor, you are so good about commenting on comments! I rarely go back to your blog to see what you commented on my comment, though. Sorry to say. I just don't get back to the blogs I've already visited and commented on. My bad and my loss!

  2. I may an effort to comment on each blog daily, as I am interested in what my friends have to say. I dont have an hidden talent that I know of...my nicknames are Lint and Nana! My desire is to know more about God, to serve Him, and love Him as He loves me. I love my Kindle Fire also and dont buy books any longer......even use the library to load books on my Kindle. Have a good Sunday Terri!

  3. 1. How has your life most benefited from the Internet?

I get to write little things and post them. It is the way I write and the style fits me like a glove. In the days of the early printing press maybe I would not have been a writer. These days, I am.

Terri, we would not even have ever heard of eachother without the Internet. None of us. But here we are communicating....with coffee, from our couches, without even going outside or picking up a phone. Could you ever have imagined this?

    2. Getaway car... I will stay and fight. Let the bad guys "get away!"

    5. Gut. Always gut.

  4. "The internet has made it much easier to be a slug"---giggling...Terri, you are not a slug. Thanks for the giggles though. smiles

Have a beautiful Sunday. I'm back to wearing regular shoes tomorrow, no more flip flops. sigh

  5. In the summer at home I'm barefoot all the time. Winter I'm freezing and always have socks + slippers on.

I don't have A Kindle but I use Kindle app on my phone.
    Have a great day!

  6. I do the same with correspondence. It's so much easier to think on the computer and it sounds better when I have time to compose it.

  7. Oh, so true about #1! I'm looking forward to being forced to be on my feet at my new job.
Out to eat? That would definitely work!
I think we were kind of on the same page with #15. I wasn't specific, though, just said I'd like to make people's lives better.
A fun meme and great answers today.
Enjoy the rest of your day!

  8. Your priority to seek the Lord and to know Him better is excellent. We all need that.

As for #15, an acquired ability, you are so good to want an ability to do something wonderful for people. Me, I'd like to wake up tomorrow knowing how to play the piano by ear, and beautifully, at that.

  9. I hardly ever pen anything by hand except to take quick notes - it's the keyboard for me! And I do go back to my blog often so I can respond to comments, though like you, Terri, I don't always go back to see how someone I've read has responded to my comment on their blog. Need to get batter about that, too!
    Blessings!

  10. #12? That's a splendid idea, Terri! How I wish I could trust my gut instinct ... unfortunately, its let me down more than once. Yes, that was me over here, (unsuccessfully) attempting to cross my toes. LOL!

  11. I'm really thankful for the internet. We are able to stay connected to our families so much better. And of course, blogging has opened up a whole other group of friends in the past 13 years since I started.

I've become such a sloth as far as reading - books and the Bible, I hate to admit. I have an ongoing conversation with God all the time and I have some beloved worship albums that I listen to/sing with while working in the kitchen.

I have not been able to wear flip flops for many years (plantar fasciitis). I wear crocks or my Brooks walking shoes at home, Birkies and Clarks sandals when I go away from home.

    1. My favorite flip-flops are CROCS and they do have a little bit of arch support.

  12. Terri, what wonderful questions and answers today. I love your answer to #8 especially about knowing God! That is my quest also and I could have answered that one as you did. I look forward to hearing about your Bible study. Mine begins September 13.
I spend too much time on the Internet, I know. I love learning and reading about things. I do like my Kindle since you can carry so many books with you. Have a great week!

  13. I wish everyone had their e-mail attached to their profile. It's so much easier to answer questions!
I love my kindle fire too and use it all the time.
Guess what? I'm double jointed in the elbows as well!

  14. Terri, I love your name. Your elbows are 'double-jointed? Do you mean you have hypermobility?
