We had a much busier weekend than the previous two and it was lots of fun!
On Friday, the ladies' group at Mas Verde had a reception
for one of our own who is moving closer to her family.
Marge is a retired nurse, a hospice volunteer, and
a Camp Braveheart volunteer.
She has helped many people here with her nursing skills and is
also just a very sweet soul. She will be missed, but we are happy for her.
There were people there to wish her well, in every nook and cranny
of Betty's house. It was very nice of her to hostess the event.
That is Marge in the peach capris, filling her plate.
Saturday was laundry day, and we also went to the 4:00 Vigil Mass at St. Joe's.
Yesterday (Sunday), we had an invitation to meet grandchildren, Lauren & Tristan, down in Punta Gorda, for lunch! Lauren was in Naples for the weekend to see her brother before he goes back to Texas for his last year at SMU. Lauren lives on the east coast, so had to drive across Alligator Alley to get to her mom's house in Naples. All three of them drove up to Punta Gorda to meet us. It is almost an equal drive for us (a little farther for us). Fisherman's Cove is a touristy shopping area and there are several restaurants there. We always meet at the Captain's Table. Great seafood!!
The views are amazing and the weather was great!
(We did hit heavy rain on the way home.)
Coconut crusted mahi-mahi with pineapple over rice, with veggies.
It was delicious!
Sure do love our kiddos. All grown up now.
Lauren has a job she loves with a large corporation.
Tristan just completed a successful summer internship with Lockheed Martin
and they have offered him a job when he graduates.
He is thrilled. He loved the work and the people he worked with.
Win-win. Our grands are blessed.
Backing up a bit to our Wednesday morning at the farm (Joe's client),
this is Arya, the client's new Jack Russell puppy. She is SO cute.
My face was licked and my fingers were chewed on.
She is full of herself and not shy at all!!
And this just makes me laugh, at the Clubhouse, every time we go
up there for our mail. Do you see the sprig sticking up
at the top of this bush? Drives me nuts!! I need to take a pair of scissors
up there and trim it off!! How could the grounds people
leave that sticking up like that?!! OCD LOL
So that was our weekend!! It was nice to have some fun, since today, at 11:30, I will be in surgery having my plumbing fixed (hopefully!). Please send up a prayer for me and for my doctor and her surgical team!! I report to the hospital at 9:30. The surgery should take less than an hour so hopefully, I will be home and tucked in by mid-afternoon.
How was your weekend? Thanks for peeking in today! Peace & hugs!!

Praying for you.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Love seeing you and the grands. That puppy is so cute, how could you not like it? lol I will certainly be praying for the surgeon and you today. God bless and keep you my friend.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your pictures. It's always fun to get a peek at your days and it's always so gosh darn SUNNY down there compared to how gray it is here most of the time (climate change?).
ReplyDeleteLifting you and all the medical team in prayer!
Love following your activities- you always take great photos. Great that the grandchildren are doing well. Such a worry these days as to whether they will get jobs etc. And that puppy is too cute but sure your cats wouldn’t agree lol
ReplyDeleteYou did, indeed, have a wonderful weekend! I'm so glad Lockheed Martin has offered Tristan a job after his graduation. Beloved was with LockMart for 18+ years. They treated him well and moved us cross country several times. It was an exciting career.
ReplyDeleteThe puppy is soo cute! and that wild twig would bother me, too! Ha-ha!
We prayed for your surgery this morning. We look forward to hearing from you (or Joe) afterwards.
Nice pictures and it sounds like a terrific weekend. LOVE that puppy shot! What a cutie....how much sweeter your next visits will be with this happy girl to greet you. :)
ReplyDeleteWe are kindred spirits Terri as that sprig sticking up would drive me crazy too.lol Loved the pictures of your trip to see the family. It looked like a gorgeous day. I hope you are liking your new church. And what a lovely group of friends you have at Mas Verde.
ReplyDeleteI cant believe Tristan is a senior in college? When did that happen? {{grin}}
ReplyDeleteKeeping you in prayer, Terri. smiles
Awww puppy is adorable.
ReplyDeleteThat's great that your grandkids are doing so well.
Good luck on your surgery.
Glad you had such an awesome weekend. Praying for you today. I know all will go well.
ReplyDeleteMy OCD would show too with that stick hanging out!
ReplyDeleteTHAT PUPPY!!!! Someone dropped a Jack Russell puppy off at our house right when we got Harvey & we couldnt keep him - so my MIL took him in & he looked just like that little pup. He's such a big dog now compared to then & its funny to look back & see how small he was.
Marge sounds like an incredible lady. Can you imagine how many people she's helped through the years.
Looks like a fun party for your friend at the clubhouse and she will be missed. Is the sprig a reminder of how much the yard man is needed??? Lol! Great times with your family and that you spend time with the grands. Congratulations to both of them on the jobs! Oh, that puppy is adorable!!! So, so cute.
ReplyDeleteCharlotte Harbor looks so lovely! That was great you were able to get together before Tristan heads back to Texas. (Awesome news on his job offer!!!)
ReplyDeleteThat puppy totally defines adorable! Don't know that I'd have the energy to keep up with a Jack Russel tho'. And yes, my OCD bells would be ringing big time!
Prayers for a swift and easy recovery, my friend!
How did surgery go?
ReplyDelete"so had to drive across Alligator Alley"
Did she see any?? 😱
Cute puppy!
How well I recall your destination in Punta Gorda... just down the road from North Fort Myers..
ReplyDeletePrayers that all is well with you.. look forward to hearing.
Cute puppy!
ReplyDeleteLockheed Martin is who my son works for - they are good employers.
I love the pic of Joe with the pirate.
I do hope your surgery went well and that you aren't having too much pain from it.
ReplyDeleteThat is terrific that your grandson already has a job offer! Wow!
That Jack Russel is absolutely adorable!! We've had two Jack Russel granddogs. Such sweet pets.
Praying the surgery goes even better than anticipated and that recovery is quick and uncomplicated! Also praying that the procedure does a phenomenal job of correcting your issue!
ReplyDeletePraying for you, Terri! Let us know how it went as soon as you can.
ReplyDeleteBlessings!
