It's a Jungle Out There
Welcome to Saturday 9. What we've committed to our readers is that we will post 9 questions every Saturday. Sometimes the post will have a theme, and at other times the questions will be totally unrelated. Those weeks we do "random questions," so-to-speak. We encourage you to visit other participants posts and leave a comment. Because we don't have any rules, it is your choice. We hate rules. We love memes, however, and here is today's meme!
Saturday 9: It's a Jungle Out There (Theme from Monk) (2003)
Unfamiliar with this week's tune? Hear it here.
1) This week's song is the theme from the detective show that ran from 2002-2009. Were you a fan? I can't say I was a fan, but I have seen a couple of episodes in re-runs. I do like Tony Shalhoub.
2) The song warns us about the air we breathe and the water we drink. Does your home have an air or water filter? Air filter, yes. Water filter, no.
3) The lyrics say, "People say I'm crazy to worry all the time." Are you a worrier? Or do you just take things as they come? I am not a worrier and do take things as they come.
4) TV's Adrian Monk is known for his outstanding deductive powers, an homage to Sherlock Holmes. Have you read any of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's books featuring Sherlock Holmes? I've not read the books but I have seen movies and TV shows featuring Sherlock Holmes.
5) Monk was also known for fastidiousness and precision, an homage to Hercule Poirot. Have you read any of Agatha Christie's books featuring Poirot? Again, I have not read the books but have seen a few movies.
6) This song was written and performed by Grammy and Emmy winner Randy Newman. Do you have any trophies or plaques? No trophies but I have had lots of plaques down through the years.
7) Before winning an Oscar in 2001, Mr. Newman had the distinction of having the most nominations (15) without a win. Do you consider yourself a graceful loser? I have indeed become a graceful loser because I rarely win. I have very low expectations when I play games or buy lottery tickets.
8) In 2003, when this song was introduced, Lance Armstrong won his fifth Tour de France. Later, he was disgraced in a doping scandal. Can you think of a time when a hero disappointed you? Pete Rose disappointed me when he admitted to lying. I believed in him and was a big fan back in the day. I still think he belongs in the Baseball Hall of Fame.
9) Random question -- We're catering lunch. Should we put you down for a burger or a taco? A taco with extra sour cream, please... make that two!!
Thanks so much for joining us again at Saturday: 9. As always, feel free to come back, see who has participated and comment on their posts. In fact sometimes, if you want to read & comment on everyone's responses, you might want to check back again tomorrow. But it is not a rule. We haven’t any rules here. Join us on next Saturday for another version of Saturday: 9, "Just A Silly Meme on a Saturday!" Enjoy your weekend!

I wasnt a fan of Monk and didnt watch the show. Nor have I read the books mentioned. No trophies here, and I hate to admit, but am a worrier. Hoping your Saturday is a good one and you are feeling even better.
ReplyDeleteYou and me both when it comes to winning. I will buy a lottery ticket when the jackpot is very high, but my expectations of ever winning are best summed up as "With my luck, when my ship finally comes in I'll be at the airport." LOL
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderfully blessed Saturday!
I never win either. :(
ReplyDeleteI agree about Pete Rose.
Have a great day!
I seldom watch Monk because he isn't on at a time when I want to be stationed in front of the TV. But I do enjoy him and fear I could be more like him if my family and friends don't stop me.
ReplyDeleteI wish I could NOT be a worrier Terri but I come from a long line of them.lol
ReplyDeleteNever a Monk fan. Makes me nervous to watch him, lol. Glad you are home and recovering. I am a worrier, dang it!!! hugs, lj
ReplyDeletePass the sour cream, please? :)
ReplyDeleteI so respect your peace of mind; like Arlene just wrote, I come from a long line of 'fretters.' I know it does no good...
I'm with you on the extra sour cream!! I joined in Sat 9 as well. I like doing these and reading all the answers people give.
ReplyDeleteGlad to know more about you my friend.
Monk was a brilliant series. I liked it.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
