Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 354
After a much-needed break our hostess, Joyce, is back with this week's questions for the Wednesday Hodgepodge. You can join in HERE and share your answers over on Joyce’s blog…
1. Describe your 30's in one sentence. If you're not yet 30 tell us one thing you hope to accomplish once you hit that particular decade. I grew up and discovered who I was in my 30s.
2. Is it harder for you to exercise or eat healthy? It is harder for me to exercise because my knees are shot. I do try to eat (somewhat) healthy though, with less sugar and carbs in my diet and eating more protein.
3. June 7th is National VCR Day. Huh? Anyway, this reminded me of something I saw on Facebook listing household items we no longer have and the VCR was on it. I couldn't put my hands on that list, but found another list here of 21 items we all had ten years ago, but which are now obsolete-
bookshelves (WHAT!!???), drip coffee makers, alarm clocks, file cabinets, desktop computers, printers, printed phone books, answering machines, fax machines, paper shredders, a Rolodex, CD racks, CD burners, china cabinets, home phones, entertainment consoles, DVD players, calculators, takeout menus, incandescent light bulbs, and cable TV
Your thoughts? That everything old can be new again. Think about vinyl albums and record players. They are back. How many on the list do you still have? 15 Still use? 15
4. What's something you see disappearing in the next ten years? Probably all of the above, gasoline powered cars, shopping centers, gosh – it all changes so quickly these days…
5. How did you celebrate your birthday this past year? By going out for dinner. Is that typical? Yes.
6. Insert your own random thought here. I am writing this on Saturday and our company has landed in Tampa and will be here in about 45 minutes! We are looking forward to some family fun!! I won’t be posting on Thursday or Friday this week so just know I am thankful for family and for all of you, and I will be taking lots of photos to share even though I will miss Friday Foto Friends this week. I’ll be back soon!!
Thanks for checking in! Peace & hugs!

Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteOne thing I do not understand is these smart tvs and how people purchase movies from Amazon Prime. I still use a dvd player and I am not happy about having to learn a new way to watch tv.
ReplyDeleteI have and use 8 things from that list.
ReplyDeleteHave a great family visit!
I have and use 14 of those 21 items. I guess I'm a dinosaur. Have fun with your friends!
ReplyDeleteChange does seem to happen at mach speed these days. Maybe our grandparents would have said the same? Enjoy your company!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your company, Terri. I'm so sorry your knees give you grief. My hips and back give me grief when I sit at the computer, which is why I am seldom on anymore. :-(
ReplyDeleteYep, we're still using most of those "obsolete" things, too. It does all change so fast...not always sure that change just for the sake of change is an improvement.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend enjoying your company!
Your answer to #1 might well have been my own! I'm a bit sad at what 'they' (whoever THEY are) believes to be obsolete. Come to think of it, I still don't get what's wrong with popcorn ceilings. LOL!
ReplyDeleteHope y'all are having a super day at the Farm!
I felt more like an adult in my 30’s and that was nice. Have fun with your company.
ReplyDeleteIt took me until I was 30 to find God and begin to really grow up. Not something I'm proud of, but, hey, that's the truth.
ReplyDeleteHave an amazing time with your friends, Terri!
Blessings!
Fun questions and answers...makes us scratch our heads about some of these obsolete items though. Enjoy your week!
ReplyDeleteThis shows how quickly things change!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your time with your company. :)
That everything old can be new again... how nice!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your company sweet Terri. Hugs
ReplyDeleteRegarding National VCR Day, of that list, we still have/use at least 9 of those things. Innovation is moving awfully fast -- too fast for me!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy your company!
Wow, that list of obsolete items makes me feel pretty obsolete!!! We still have a VCR because we still have some old family VCR tapes and other old movies that we don't want to give up. I know we should have them put on DVD's...but I don't know how to do that..and DVD's are probably obsolete too... Enjoy your company. I know you are...I saw the pictures on Facebook. Happy Days.God bless you all.
ReplyDeleteWe still have a lot of those things too. Does that make me old fashioned lol? I hope you're having a great time with the family and look forward to hearing about it.
ReplyDeleteBookshelves obsolete? Not in my house! Not ever! Many others I still have too.
ReplyDeleteAh, life in our 30's. For me, they were the best years of my life. It's when my kids were really little. I loved those toddler and preschool years so much.
I hope you have had a wonderful time with your family!
Love,
Patti
