Thankful Thursday...

I will post this Thankful Thursday and link it over to Rebecca Jo at Knit By God's Hand, hoping she will be back with us, hosting her Thankful Thursday meme this week.

**I am thankful for our wonderful neighbors who joined us for dinner last night. Both couples are getting ready to venture north, visiting family and friends.  One will be gone for a month and the other for almost three months.  We will be collecting mail for them and keeping an eye on their homes. I made roast beef, mashed potatoes, broccoli, corn pudding, a salad, rolls, and made chocolate brownie sundaes for dessert.  We sat around the table and talked for nearly three hours. We are so blessed by good people here.

**I am thankful that we were excused from going to the farm (Joe's client) this week so Joe can rest his arm.  He started to fall a couple of days ago and tore his bicep trying to catch himself.  It is black & blue and swollen. The ortho doc looked at it and said there isn't much to be done but ice it and rest it, so that is what Joe is doing. Joe is also trying harder to be more mobile. Thankful for that but sorry he hurt his arm.

**I am thankful for my blogging friends!  You are always supportive and kind and generous with your prayers! How blessed I am!!

Happy Thursday and the first day of Summer! Be thankful always!!  Peace & hugs!!

  2. It's nice that you got to have that dinner with your friends before they left town. Your meal sounds yummy! I'm glad Joe is taking it easy and didn't get hurt any worse than he did. I thank you for your prayers for my hubby, too. Have a blessed and beautiful day!

  6. I need to get caught up on your posts! I've missed the last few!!

I'm so sorry about Joe's near-fall and the resulting injury to his arm. Sounds pretty painful. I will pray for healing for him.

By the way, you talk about the farm a lot. What does Joe do for this client?

Your time with your neighbors sounds lovely, and your dinner sounds delicious. That was a lot of food. Sounds like a Thanksgiving feast!

How kind of you to get their mail and keep an eye on their homes while they are gone. So in keeping with the sweet person you are.

Hope you are having a fantastic week.

    Love,
    Patti

    1. Joe is a retired CPA, but he still has a handful of clients who won't let him go. The farm client is one of them. We are friends, now, after him working for them so long.

  7. Ouch ouch ouch for Joe! I am glad he will be seeing PT to help with his mobility but is he able to do much with the heart & breathing issues? Probably he will be monitored like my mom was during her recovery from heart surgery and pneumonia. She was actually on dialysis and still did PT. Life definitely gets harder and is not as much fun when we have multiple issues. Praise God we all keep on keepin' on!

  8. Your supper sounds SO good. Roast beef and mashed potatoes is always a hit...but I haven't cooked one in so long...making me drool... Sorry to hear about Joe's new pain...but glad it wasn't worse. Try to take it easy in this heat and humidity today...I am very thankful for our AC today!!!

  9. Mercy!! That dinner is just my kind of meal. I'm sorry about Joe's arm and pray it heals up soon. Glad he will get a rest. So nice that you are surrounded by so many good neighbors. I drove my Jay up to the 55 retirement community down the road from us to drive around the neighborhood and whet his appetite! ;-) He approved, but wouldn't commit. Baby steps.

  11. Poor Joe! One's mobility can become a Big Deal as we get older. I've even come close to breaking an ankle recently, forgetting to slow down. Your dinner menu and the camaraderie sounds wonderful!
