Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 357
Thanks to our busy hostess, Joyce, for this week’s Hodgepodge! Joyce, we appreciate you!!
Copy the questions, answer on your blog, and then link back to Joyce HERE!!
1. Security or freedom? There is room for both. Can you have both? I believe so. Explain. Gosh, couldn’t we write a few pages about this subject? I’ll just say that I am SECURE in my faith in Jesus Christ and He has FREED me from sin and death. Now that is security and freedom! But again, we could write pages on the subject.
2. If you could visit any historical American site what would it be? The Ancient Cliff Dwellings out in New Mexico. Why? I find them fascinating and would love to see them in person.
3. Free as a bird, free reign, be free of, free enterprise, free trip, walk away scot-free, free for all...which 'free' phrase can best be applied to your life in recent days or weeks? Be free of… Explain. Joe and I both need to be free of joint pain and free of doctor appointments. Praise God, things are improving a little each day!
4. Something in your frig that's red? Bookbinder’s Cocktail Sauce. Something in your house that's white? My kitchen cupboards. Something in your view that's blue? A blue depression glass candy dish.
5. July 27th is National New Jersey Day. Have you ever visited The Garden State? Yes. If so where did you go? Ventnor City and Atlantic City. Are there diners where you live? Yes. Have you tried Taylor Pork Roll? I’ve never heard of it. Do you like to play Monopoly? Yes, with a fun group. Saltwater taffy-yay or nay? Yay, but I don’t need a whole box. How do you feel about shopping at the mall? It’s been a few years since I went to our Mall. Springsteen, Sinatra, or Bon Jovi - you have to pick one. I like them all but choose Sinatra.
Raise your hand if you know why these add-on questions are appropriate on National NJ Day. I’m just guessing, but they must all have originated or been born in New Jersey.
6. Insert your own random thought here. I had such a nice time out to lunch with a dozen of my former co-workers yesterday! I was invited to join them to help celebrate one of their birthdays. It was so good to see everyone and catch-up on what’s going on with everyone. I am so blessed that they asked me.
Joe did much better yesterday, with his walking! Perhaps we have turned a corner. Praise God!!
Thanks for checking in! Peace & hugs!!

Interesting questions and good answers from you. How nice that you got to have lunch and visit with those you worked with at the museum. Praying for Joe....that he continues to improve. Hugs!
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that you have, indeed, turned a corner with Joe's health since he was able to get out and walk yesterday.
ReplyDeleteLove your reply to #1. I should have said the same thing!
I'm glad to hear Joe was walking better. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
It is always fun to get together with people who you worked with! I still get together with people I worked with at the Weekday School. So glad your pain issues seem to be doing better. A friend of ours just got a hip replacement and it is amazing how quickly he recovered due to the new way they do the procedure. Wish they could make the knee surgery easier.
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to have lunch with friends. And I'm so glad Joe is showing improvement. It takes so much longer to heal as we get older...we know! Enjoy your day!
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear things are a bit better... nothing like getting together with "old" friends and catching the latest updates..
ReplyDeleteSo glad you and your husband are feeling better.
ReplyDeleteGod bless.
Praise God for the good update on Joe!!!
ReplyDeleteLove your answer to #1, Terri!
ReplyDelete… and #2 so ironic! Nearby Bandolier and the Puye Cliffs were often my childhood playgrounds. Gosh knows, I couldn't begin to scamper up those ladders nowadays.
So glad to hear of Joe's progress!
Glad to hear that there might have been a corner turned on all the physical pain. Goo bless you two. And your first answer was perfect. That is where our real freedom and security lie. The Cliff Dwellings are fascinating. We were there several years ago but I'd like to go back. I didn't know depression glass even came in blue! I only have a few pieces of pink and green, the ones with straight lines, my favorite. Hope you have a blessed Wednesday.
ReplyDeleteI hate predictive texting! God bless you!!!
ReplyDeleteI love your answer to #1!! Security and freedom, indeed, are found in the Lord Jesus!
ReplyDeleteI'm a bit envious that you have white kitchen cabinets. Mine are boring oak, and after 13 years in this house, I am WEARY of them. I'm thinking of painting them and may go white.
How lovely to have lunch with your former co-workers. They must still consider you part of the group to have invited you. That's always a nice feeling.
Frank Sinatra...swoon! I love that man's voice!!
I do hope Joe has turned a corner and will be feeling very well again soon.
Happy Wednesday!
Love,
Patti
Sorry you are both still dealing with doctors and appointments, Terri. I love your answers--there are many truths in your words about freedom and security.
ReplyDeleteHope you have a great day- xo Diana
I hope you can go to New Mexico. I absolutely loved it out there when I went out on mission trips to the Navajo reservation. For beautiful rock formations and cliff dwellings I recommend Canyon de Chelly in Chinle, AZ. https://www.nps.gov/cach/index.htm
ReplyDeleteFreedom and security in Jesus - that echoes my latest post, Terri! Glad, too, that Joe is doing so much better. Blessings to both of you!
ReplyDeleteI’d love to see the Cliff dwellings too.
ReplyDeleteI am way behind in my reading of blogs...trying to get caught up, but haven't been too perky lately. Must be jet lag from our trip. LOL. Or just lazy hazy days of summer. This was neat. Thanks for taking the time to do it and share it with us.
ReplyDeleteSo glad y'all are having improvements every day. Sometimes, the hardest part is patience. Healing does tend to take longer as we age, doesn't it? Hang in there! Having lunches with friends makes for a lovely day for sure.
ReplyDeleteI love your answer to #1!
ReplyDeleteSo glad Joe had a better day yesterday.
I am glad that things are improving with you and Joe. May that trend continue. I once lived in Albuquerque, NM, but never visited the Ancient Cliff Dwellings. SWMBO and I are so with you on the doctor appointments thing.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful and safe Fourth of July.
Depression glass! I remember that. My mother had some but I think it was green. Have no idea where it went after she died, so I hope it found a nice home. So glad you and Joe are doing better. Have a great 4th!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed reading your answers. So neat that we had essentially the very same answer for #1!
