Thankful Thursday Link-up...

I am linking up with Rebecca Jo at Knit By God's Hand for her Thankful Thursday Link-up!  You can join in HERE.

** I am so thankful that we found Dr. Band at the Express Clinic! He had us get a compression sleeve for Joe's arm and the swelling has now gone almost completely away! The hematoma will take weeks to dissolve, but the swelling is down and he can use his hand and arm again!

** I am also thankful that he is working on getting the strength back in his left leg!  By the time his physical therapy appointment happens, he may not need them! Wouldn't that be fantastic!

** I am thankful for Sam's Club!!  I need new glasses and have an old frame that I love and want to use again.  My eye doctor works at MyEyeDr here in town.  I priced new lenses with them, right after my exam.  $376.00 and that was with my insurance (which is just a discount plan).  I told them I needed to shop around for the price and left with my prescription.  Yesterday I went to Sam's Club to get a price with their optical department. How does $199.00 sound?!! I couldn't believe the difference and for like products and options. No brainer.  And that was with NO insurance (they don't accept Medicare plans).  My new glasses will be ready by July 6th. Whoohoo!

** I am thankful for so many blessings, of which I am always humble and mindful.

Thanks for your visit today!  Happy Thursday! Be thankful always!  Peace & hugs.

  1. So much to be thankful for. Good deal on the glasses, and smart to shop around. Sounds like Joe is on the mend and hope he continues to improve.

  3. I just had that conversation with someone about the prices of Sam's Club/Costco compared to other places - for glasses AND hearing aids. A friend needed a hearing aid & it was going to cost $6500 - & the exact same one was $1600 at costco! That's crazy!!!!

Hematoma... that word just freaks me out now since that was the start of all my problems. Praying Joe's breaks up with no issues!

  5. I am so glad to read that about Joe...apologies, I am falling behind in commenting.---we are having issues with Medicare and what it covers and don't either. Hubby has to have a eye exam, and of course, Medicare wont cover it. Don't get me going. smiles

  7. Really glad about Joe - - for both of you!
Buying glasses - - the thing I dislike - - other than the payment -- - is having to pick out a frame I like. It's so hard to find one that's flattering - - and you are at the whim of the current fashion trend. However, I am thankful for glasses. They are like a manmade miracle to me.

  10. So good to know about the $ saved on your lens by comparison shopping! We're not members of Sam's (or COSTCO), but might reconsider before our next exams. As always, a great bundle of blessings!

  13. That is wonderful news about Joe's arm!

We love Sam's Club, although ours does not have an optical department. I do order my contact lenses from them online. Dick got his hearing aid from them. He has been semi-satisfied with it and their service. Certainly a much more affordable price, but still a whole lot of money.

  14. Good deal on those lenses. I did a similar thing with Costco, and was able to recoup $50 more from my supplemental insurer by sending them a copy of my receipt.
