As I have been posting for days now, it is raining, raining, and raining more here in Lakeland. The newspaper this morning said it is the rainiest May EVER for Polk County. Yesterday the sun peeked out a few times but we had many downpours lasting more than 45 minutes at a time. We are lucky to have sandy soil so the rain does soak in pretty quickly but there can be rivers running down the street until it stops for awhile.
Enough about our rain!! That said, though, you will understand that I have no new photos to share today. It IS graduation/end of the school year time so I went looking for photos of ME. Most of you have seen these before at one time or another, but for my new readers... you can be bored for the first time!! LOL
Band. I LOVED marching band and played the trumpet.
If you click to enlarge, you will see where I typed "This is me".
Back in the day, it seems like every senior class trip was to
Washington DC. We also went to New York City.
There is another "This is Me" on this photo.
The year was 1970, by the way.
Even in kindergarten, I was the tallest student.
You can usually find me in the back row, center.
University graduation. I gave the 'call to worship' to begin
the commencement. I was 50 years old, graduated Magna Cum Laude
and was terrified to speak in front of a crowd. I did it though!
Warner University is a private Christian university in Lake Wales, FL.
Ah... high school graduation photo. We all had that
Mary Tyler Moore flip style!
Oh... I almost forgot to wish my sister, Patti, a very happy birthday today. She reads my blog by email. (Wish she would start blogging!) Here is HER senior class photo, six years after mine! The times had changed!! Yes, her hair
...and us just a couple of years ago! Love my Sis!
So thanks for staying with me for this selfie kind of post today. Wishing you a good Friday and weekend ahead! I'm going grocery shopping today to stock up for our coming guests!! Need to get beds made up too! So excited!!
Peace & hugs!!

My daughter went to Warner also. She graduated in 2014.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your sister and I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
2001 for me.

ReplyDeleteYours is such a cute idea for Foto Friday, Terri! I love seeing others' olden pictures. Have a great weekend!
Love your graduation/band photos...what a fun idea. Yesterday was my 50th anniversary of graduation from high school. so hard to believe! We will have a reunion in October. I don't think we can be that old already. Time sure flies. Yes, I had the same kind of hairdo as you for my senior pic, and then cut it all off by the time graduation came! I was tired of having to roll my hair on juice cans every night to get that flip do!! LOL. Have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to your sister! Love your pics and maybe next week I will dig some up for FFF! Good idea. You were a pretty teen. I was also always the tallest. The other day at church one of the younger ladies came up beside me to ask a question and I was stunned to turn around and have to look up!!! LOL!!! Yay, tall!!!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on that degree! You're amazing!

Loved the photos, Terri! I graduated high school in '73, and just about every girl had long hair, straightened - no curls allowed! And hope your sis has a very, happy birthday!

ReplyDeleteI LOVE your senior picture! There was a girl in my class that looked exactly like that. Her name was Alice.
Have a fantastic weekend!
