I am issuing a BIG THANK YOU to our Hodgepodge hostess, Joyce Daley, for a year of fun here at her Hodgepodge link-up on 'This Side of the Pond'. She is and many of us are taking next week off to enjoy family and friends during this sacred and joyful season.
Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 334
2. What's your favorite type of holiday gathering? Will you/have you gathered in your favorite way this month? My favorite holiday gathering is when there are only a few close friends and/or family gathering for a meal or dessert or just a beverage and good conversation. I much prefer a more intimate gathering to a big party where you don't get to talk with everyone more than saying hello. Yes, we have enjoyed such gatherings several times!
3. Time has named 'The Silence Breakers' (women who came forward with stories of harassment) 'person of the year' for 2017. Would you agree? If not, who do you think deserves the title? I do not agree. I think it is ridiculous. I won't nominate anyone because the premise of the title is also ridiculous and highly over-rated.
4. How did you spend your time this year? Are you happy about that? Elaborate I spent the first seven months of 2017 working and these past five months enjoying retirement. I am extremely happy about it and don't think it needs elaboration, especially if you have been reading my blogs these past five months! (grinning)
5. Bid farewell to 2017 in ten words or less. Thank you for so many wonderful blessings!
6. Insert your own random thought here. I will probably be absent from here beginning tomorrow (Thursday) and through this time next week. My sister and brother-in-law will be here and I will be spending my time with them, as many of you will be spending time with family and friends too. I'll pop in now and then as I can because I miss you all when I can't check in.
My wish for each of you is that your Christmas will be joyful however you choose to spend it, and that 2018 will dawn bright and full of blessings for each of us.
God bless us, everyone!! Peace & hugs.

Terri, I hope you have so much fun with your relatives during this holiday season. Hard to believe it is so close to being 2018. Time just flies. Thanks for being my friend during this year. I'm so glad we met through our blogs!
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas Kathy! I'm glad to know you too!
DeleteEnjoy the time with your sister and BIL....it will be fun having them in your new home, and being retired to have the time to spend with them. Merry Christmas my dear friend, and the happiest of New Years to you and Joe. God bless you now and in the future.
ReplyDeleteGod's blessings wished for you too, Linda! I'm anxious to hear about Jim's homecoming! Merry Christmas to you and yours! Love & hugs!
DeleteHave a great time with your family!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kim! Merry Christmas!
DeleteIt seems like we waited right with you for that retirement date to pop up on the calendar, and now it's wonderful to read that it's been a good retirement with new house, New neighborhood, New friends, and having time to do the things you love. God bless you and Joe with a merry Christmas and a happy New year.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and yours! Happy new year, too!
DeleteI agree with your answer on number 3...I hope you have a very Merry Christmas, my friend.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, Linda! I am happy to have your friendship here! We conservatives must stick together!
DeleteYes, I agree about Time magazine, Terri. It seems it is turning into a witch hunt. And so suspicious that everything is happening at one time when apparently it had been going on for decades. Have a Merry Christmas. I may take a little blog break as well. We are going to Grimmwood the week after Christmas.
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas to you and yours, Arlene! I know you will have a wonderful time at Grimmwood!! Looking forward to photos and stories, my friend!
DeleteWell I like your answers. I want to wish you and Joe a very MERRY CHRISTMAS! Love, sandie
ReplyDeleteMerry Christmas, Sandie, to you and your family! Sending love & hugs!!
DeleteGosh - it doesn't seem like it's been almost a year since you moved but maybe that is because you had not retired yet. Praising God that it is this year and not last year. That was a LOT on you & Joe - - both physically and emotionally. If I remember correctly, you got pretty sick before it was over - - upper respiratory infection I think.
ReplyDeleteHave a VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS! I know you will enjoy it because you enjoy the people God has placed in your lives!
Thank you Lynda! Yes, I did get sick during the move but am happy to not be around the kids and the public at the Museum anymore. So far, so good! Working in a public place makes it easier to pick up germs, that's for sure. Merry Christmas to you and your beautiful family!
DeleteLove your Christmas wish for everyone and your always cheerful and positive outlook. Hard to believe the year has passed and so happy for you that you are enjoying retirement to the fullest!
ReplyDeleteI am enjoying retirement!! Merry Christmas!!
DeleteI'm so happy you're enjoying your retirement. I thought you might :)
ReplyDeleteWishing you and yours a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
Kathy (Reflections)

ReplyDeleteAre you in one of The Villages? If you are that close, we will definitely need to meet for lunch some day!! Yes, only in Florida!
DeleteI agree with you one #3. I am so sick of it!
ReplyDeleteYou had a great year and I wish you the best for next year.
Merry Christmas to you and Joe!
Thanks Mari!! Merry Christmas to you and your adorable family! I can't wait to read about those girls of yours on Christmas morning!
DeleteHave a wonderful break and Christmas with your family and friends. Hope you and Joe Have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteThank you! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Delete#2 ... amen!
ReplyDelete#3 ... applauding from stage right! Frankly, I'm so weary of embittered, revengeful women vying for their 15 minutes of fame.
All my best to you, Joe and your family for a HEART-felt Christmas!
Merry Christmas, Myra! Thanks for your comment on #3. It seems I'm in the minority but I stand firm!
DeleteOh, please enjoy your time with your sister and family. What a wonderful time that will be for you all. Have a very Merry Christmas and the Happiest of New Years! ReplyDeleteIt would be great to see you!! Keep me posted!! Merry Christmas!!
DeleteI enjoyed reading your answers and I so agree about the type of Christmas gathering that's enjoyable. I gave essentially the same answer. Have a wonderful Christmas ... so nice that you can have family there with you!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! Merry Christmas!
DeleteMerry Christmas to you, good friend!
ReplyDeleteWishing you and yours the same, Barbara! We will meet in person in 2018!
DeleteSeasons Greetings from the Granite State. I hope that you enjoy the time with your company over the holiday. Thank you for your kind words of support over the past year. I hope that Joe continues to improve. My beloved SWMBO and I wish you and yours a very Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your visit! Merry Christmas to you and yours!
DeleteMost of the Sunday Stealers were very cautious in their answers to #3...a few were quite angrily in favor of it, but most seemed to temper their words, barely hinting that some of them might think the whole thing has gotten out of hand. If only all who think it's taken on the tone of a witch hunt would speak up. Things need to change, but this isn't the way to do it.
