Joe and I have finished our Christmas decorating. We made do with what we had on hand for our outside decorations, with the exception of purchasing the poinsettias. We are using the scatter light again this year because neither one of us has any business getting on a ladder to string lights along the gutters. It looks nice when darkness falls.
Inside, we still have our skinny pencil tree that fits fine in one corner of our living room....
For the first time in many years, I got my collectible Nativity set out. I've been afraid that the cats would break it but this year I have the knick-knack shelf where I believe it is safe!
I also have a pretty Madonna and Child that I purchased in the Museum Store years ago.
And here are a few more of my decorations....
Vinny has been sleeping behind the tree and was not happy I found him!
Tuesday I was at the farm and got to pet the horses.
And there was this sky.....
May God bless us all with a safe, healthy, happy and very festive December!!
With hope in our hearts, we begin the Advent season this weekend, counting the days until the birth of our Savior!
- The 1st Sunday of Advent symbolizes Hope with the “Prophet’s Candle” reminding us that Jesus is coming.
- The 2nd Sunday of Advent symbolizes Faith with the “Bethlehem Candle” reminding us of Mary and Joseph’s journey to Bethlehem.
- The 3rd Sunday of Advent symbolizes Joy with the “Shepherd’s Candle” reminding us of the Joy the world experienced at the coming birth of Jesus.
- The 4th Sunday of Advent symbolizes Peace with the “Angel’s Candle” reminding us of the message of the angels: “Peace on Earth, Good Will Toward Men.”

Such fun to find a place for everything in your new home. I'm doing the same, but have gone pretty minimalist. Also was happy to see my precious nativity that belonged to my husband's late mother survived the move :-)
ReplyDeleteI love the Merry Mail, that is a cut idea, smiles...loved all your decorations. Have a beautiful, joyous day friend.
ReplyDeleteYour house looks very festive. Maybe this weekend we will get our house decorated.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
Your decorations are wonderful! I LOVE the Nativity set, and especially the Madonna and Child..that is magnificent! Your home is lovely. I am so happy for you to be there!! Oh, and of course the horses are wonderful. What a nice break in the week for you! Yes, I love the Advent season, and am getting ready to create our Advent wreath to start this Sunday. This is the most wonderful time of the year!!
ReplyDeleteI love seeing your new home Terri. And what a beautiful nativity...you know I love them. So glad you can enjoy yours this year without worry. I just received my advent devotional book from Bishop Robert Barron. I read his devotionals on line each day.
ReplyDeleteYour decorations are beautiful! Your tree looks magical and that Madonna and child is so pretty.
ReplyDeleteYour home looks so festive! Mostly, I'm liking your cloth wreath ... reminds me of something I used to (try to) make using pinking shears and a Phillips screwdriver.
ReplyDeleteOur neighbors have those cluster lights; great invention!
I so enjoy seeing my friend's CHRISTmas decorations. I love your pencil tree. I'm thinking eventually I'm going with a tabletop tree! I'm turning somewhat scroogy in my old age...LOL! Vinny behind the tree is funny! And, thank you for the explanation of the Sunday's of Advent! HOPE you and Mr. Joe are having a great weekend.
