Thankful Thursday!!

Happy Thursday!!  I am linking up with Rebecca Joe at Knit By God's Hand for her link-up of thankfulness!!  Join in HERE!!

Yesterday was our day at the farm.  Joe's client graciously allows me to hang out with their animals while Joe works there (Joe is an almost retired CPA, for those who don't know).  I got to meet a new member of the family!!  Is there anything cuter than a puppy?  I was thankful to get a puppy fix!!  Coby is a six week old Jack Russell...

I took a bag of apples with me for the horses and goats.  Of course, I asked permission to feed them goodies and was told they would love them.... they did!  Thankful to enjoy the horses & goats!

We usually get there around 10:30 and they usually finish working around 12:30 or 1:00.  That means it is lunch time!  So for the last few weeks, we have been stopping on the way home for a slice of pizza (or two) at Joe's favorite pizza place, Palace Pizza.  It is always good and usually more crowded than this, though it was almost 2:00 when we arrived!

After that, we decided to stop at Sam's Club for a rather extensive list. Thankful to be able to take care of getting most of the gift cards we need for Christmas and to stock up for company coming.  I am also cooking lunch for my lunch bunch girlfriends tomorrow.  We usually go out for lunch, but for the holidays we like to get together at someone's home. I am so happy to do it this year!  Thankful for my dear girlfriends!!

I just have to share this photo that I took yesterday.  Our dear friend, Helen, had to get a new roof on her house and Joe has been over-seeing getting bids and hiring a company to do the work.  They started on Tuesday and finished yesterday, so we have been stopping by to check on the progress and spend some time with her.  The people who live next door hung zombie-looking things from the tree in their front yard for Halloween.  Gruesome, but was okay for Halloween.  Then Thanksgiving came and the zombies are still hanging.... and now Santa has joined the scene.  We are so thankful we don't live next door to them.  I think they must be just a little sick.  This is a very nice neighborhood and our new Mayor happens to live down this same street. Perhaps he can do something about this....  Helen hates it and I'm sure others in the neighborhood do too. I'm actually surprised some politically correct group hasn't complained about it.  I DO understand that it is their yard and they can do what they want but being a good neighbor is never out of style.

I am thankful for YOU and that you stopped by today!!  Happy Thursday! Peace & hugs.

  2. I believe those folks with the zombies might have some issues....I'd be very leery to live near them and keep an eye out. That sweet puppy, though...I love Jack Russell's! We have a Pizza Palace (opposite) in Knoxville that everybody says is awesome. My hubby won't eat pizza and this old gal DOES NOT need to buy a whole on because she'd it it down in a heartbeat!! Cholesterol overload! ;-)

    1. That's is what makes our Palace Pizza a good place...you can buy pizza by the slice! Yum!

  3. Awww such a cute puppy. Looks like a very relaxing time.

How odd that they didn't take their Halloween decorations down.
    Have a great day!

  4. I would HATE seeing that all the time. Hope something can be done about it. On the other hand, Colby is very sweet.

    1. It is easy to be a visitor. I know how much work a farm/ranch can be but I sure feel blessed to be able to enjoy some time there each week.

  6. Praise God everything is back to normal in your lives.
That Zombie thing would sure bother me. My brother died by hanging himself. I never saw him that way but looking out would bring back the horrific memories of receiving that call!
We are thankful for a day off today. The parents are taking turns staying with their older son since he was sick when I picked him up from school yesterday. Yup. - we've been exposed but hopefully rest and good eating will keep it away!

  7. I like Santa but not the others. I guess it makes people stop to look though! The puppy is so precious...nothing like a puppy cuddle to set things right! Holiday hugs!

  8. I love a Jack Russell puppy, they are so cute and so smart. Fun to be out in the fresh air and sunshine, feeding the horses and goats. Also like one stop shopping, so to speak, for the gift cards, etc. Makes it much easier. Happy Thursday...I am thankful for your friendship.

  10. Is there anything sweeter than a new puppy (or kitten)? Coby is too cute! Someone would have had to pry him off my lap. :)

Ya, those tree zombies are a bit disturbing. Do you know if there's a Nextdoor organization in their area of the city? Amazing what a little 'grassroots' can accomplish!

PS - I'd love hearing your Red Hatters story some day, Terri!
