Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 305
Here are the questions for this week's Wednesday Hodgepodge.
1. April showers bring May flowers or so the saying goes. Has your April been filled with showers? Do you carry an umbrella, wear a slicker, or make a run for it? Besides rain, what else has filled your April? Very little rain in our April. I have an umbrella in the car but in Florida, we usually just make a run for it. My April has so far been filled with lots of love!
2. What's something you could you give a 30-minute presentation on at a moment's notice and
with zero preparation? I could probably do 30 minutes on fund accounting 101; how much I love Lakeland; I could do a tour at Polk Museum of Art (not about the art so much, but on the building).
3. Share with us a favorite food memory from childhood. I grew up in corn and pig country. My hometown still has an annual Sweet Corn Festival, so I have tons of memories of sweet corn, the steak sandwiches in the senior class booth, the candy apples in the junior class booth, and those delicious chicken & noodles in the Methodist Church booth.
4. What's a song you thought you knew the lyrics to, but later discovered you were wrong? Practically all of them! LOL
5. According to one travel website, the most overrated tourist attractions in America are-
Niagara Falls (NY), Hollywood Walk of Fame (California), Times Square (NYC), Epcot (FL), Seattle Space Needle (WA), and Faneuil Hall and Quincy Market (Boston). How many of these have you seen in person? Three - Niagara Falls, Times Square, and Epcot. Did you feel like a tourist? Yes, except for Epcot, since we live nearby. Did you care? Did I care about feeling like a tourist? I don't understand the question. Tell us about a place (not on the list) you've visited that might be considered a tourist trap, but you love it anyway. Tarpon Springs, FL.
6. Your signature clothing item? I don't wear dresses anymore, so slacks are a signature item, I guess. I don't leave the house without earrings, so maybe earrings.
7. What's an experience you've had you think everyone should experience at least once? A gondola ride on the Grande Canal in Venice, Italy!! Why? Why not? Romantic, historic, a blessing!
8. Insert your own random thought here. Not random, but yesterday was such a great day! I got to meet Cheryl Nunn, a long-time blogging and Facebook friend! She and her husband Pat drove over to Lakeland from their vacation in St. Augustine. We met them at the Museum where we toured the art on both floors and spent some time in the gift shop (of course!). We took them to lunch at our favorite little Italian restaurant, Il Forno, where we all ate until we were more than full. Since we were close to our home, we took them there for some coffee and more visiting. We were happy to show them our new house and have some time to just visit. After that, we took them on a little mini-tour of our beautiful Lakeland, including three of our lakes and the stadium where the Detroit Tigers do their spring training (Cheryl is from Michigan). Back to the Museum to drop them off at their car and we had to say good-bye much too soon. Genuine, wonderful people. I have never been disappointed when meeting a blogging friend in person. We really are who we say we are. Such a blessing to be part of this group of friends here!

I had to do a shadow photo with Cheryl. She always does shadow photos to post on Facebook. I urged her to get back to Blogger. I miss her stories and photos!
Thanks for your visit today!! Peace & hugs!
