A Beach Boys Sunday Stealing....

The Beach Boys' Meme

Welcome back to Sunday Stealing which originated onWTIT: The Blog authored by Bud Weiser. Here we will steal all types of memes (or surveys) from every corner of the blogosphere. Our promise to you is that we will work hard to find the most interesting and intelligent memes. You may have heard the expression, “honor among thieves”. In that age-old tradition, we try to credit the blog that we stole it from. When possible, we contact the owner of the blog where we stole the post. We also provide a link to the victim's meme in our "Previous Victims" widget. (It's our way of saying "Thanks!") Sometimes we edit the original meme, to make it more relevant to our global players, to challenge our players, to select the best questions, or simply to make it less repetitive from this new meme or recently asked questions from a previously featured meme.

We Found this gem from a blogger that we stole from once before, Stacy of the blog “All Stacy All the Time”. She states that she stole it from "Lola’s Diner". But that's as far as I'll go. Tracing it back further might be crazier than a Trump speech. So as we sub for our current author, Kwizgiver, we will shout:

Cheer to all of us thieves!!

Sunday Stealing: The Beach Boys' Meme

1. SURFER GIRL : “I have watched you on the shore, standing by the ocean drawer, do you love me do you surfer girl” Were you ever interested in someone (other than a celebrity) who did not return your interest?   Yes.  In 9th grade, I had such a crush on a senior boy/football star who could have cared less about a skinny freshman with acne.  His loss, though!  LOL

2. BE TRUE TO YOUR SCHOOL : “So be true to your school now, just like you would for your girl or guy…” Looking back, how do you feel about your high school days?   I had a blast in high school. It was great fun.

3. FUN FUN FUN : “…and she’ll have fun fun fun till her daddy takes the T-Bird away…” What was the worst punishment you received as a teenager?  One of my dad's "talks" was always worse than a spanking or grounding.  He could make you feel terrible by just explaining how stupid you had been and how it impacts you and everyone around you.  I will say that being the first born with all the baggage that comes with, I was rarely in trouble.

4. I GET AROUND : “Round round get around, I get around” Where did you go on your last long trip?  We went to Ohio in May and to South Carolina in June.

5. HELP ME RHONDA : “You gotta help me Rhonda, help me get her off of my mind” What do you do to cheer up after a personal tragedy such as a lost job, power outage or broken relationship?  A power outage is a personal tragedy?  That made me laugh!  Well, after processing the tragedy and how it will change my life (or not) I just pull up my big girl panties and carry on.  What more can we do? Life goes on and we find a new "normal" or a new routine.

6. CALIFORNIA GIRLS : “I wish they all could be California girls. The west coast has the sunshine and the girls there get so tan, I dig a French bikini on Hawaiian island dolls, by a palm tree in the sand” Where are the best boys found?  I haven't a clue. I quit looking over 30 years ago!!

7. SLOOP JOHN B : “I wanna go home, please let me go home, ya ya. Well this is the worst trip, I’ve ever been on…” What is the worst trip you’ve ever been on?  Probably traveling to Ohio on my birthday back in 1989 because my dad only had days to live. As it turned out, he passed away the next morning. The flight from Florida to Ohio was lonely and sad and not how anyone should have to spend their birthday (or any day really).

8. WOULDN’T IT BE NICE : “I guess the more we talk about it, it makes it harder just to live without it, but let’s talk about it…” What is your biggest wish?  A cure for cancer.

9. IN MY ROOM : “There’s a place where I can go and tell my secrets to. In my room. In my room.” What is your favorite thing about your own personal room or space in your home/office?  At home, I share all of the space with my best friend, who is always a welcome part of my personal space.  At work, I love my office which is away from visitors and most staff.  It is quiet and has a great view.  As much as I enjoy interacting with my co-workers, it is good to have a quiet place when working on numbers all day.

10. GOD ONLY KNOWS : “You never need to doubt it, I’ll make you so sure about it. God only knows what I feel about you” When was the last time you told a significant other or close relative that you loved them?  I tell Joe every day, sometimes more than once, and every time we speak with family and friends. I am blessed to hear it in return, too!  Better than that, I feel it.

11. GOOD VIBRATIONS : “My baby has good vibrations, she’s giving me excitations…” When do you get good vibrations?  When I see Joe walking toward me or sitting across from me....

12. KOKOMO : “We’ll go to Kokomo. We’ll get there fast and then we’ll take it slow. That’s where I wanna go…” What is your favorite warm weather destination?  It is warm all the time here in Florida, but I enjoy the Gulf breezes at the beach.

13. DO IT AGAIN : “Let’s get back together and do it again…” If you could go back in time and gather up your school friends, what would you do again?  How about a trip to New York City, like we did for our senior class trip?  Had a blast and would love seeing a couple of shows and eating at Mama Leone's again (but the restaurant is gone)!  Old enough to have a glass of wine now! :)

Thanks to Stacy for stepping in for Kwizgiver for the Sunday Stealing Meme today!!

Happy Sunday to you and thanks for your visit!  Peace & hugs.

  3. Great answers, Terri...funny, my Dad had the same look or thoughts to us...and I knew when he was disappointed (and he would say so). Have a beautiful day, Terri.

  5. My dad gave "talks" like that, too. I used to wish he'd just spank me and be done with it. I really hated those speeches.

You mentioned Mama Leone's and now I'm singing that Billy Joel song (well, the bit I know of it) with the line "Mama Leone left a note on the door, said "Sonny move out to the country, 'cause workin' too hard can give you a heart attack-ack-ack...." There are worse ear worms. LOL

  6. One of the reasons I enjoy your blog is the attitude you have in Question #5. Your good sense and resiliency is inspiring to me.

Indeed, losing your Dad so close to your birthday had to be very hard, although losing him at any time is awful.

    Enjoy your weekend! Hugs!

  7. Aww. After all the years ... I adore your answer to #11.

"Ocean Drawer"? Egads, I've been singing the wrong word all these years and didn't realize it 'til now!

  8. That was fun to share happy memories. I miss the good music one could relate too. Kinda hard to that with the weird stuff I hear emanating from car radio's nowadays. #12 my answer would be: Ugh, dislike summer weather so it would be the Mountains or someplace a lot cooler than here. *giggle*
Hope your day is blessed. ~:)

  9. I enjoyed this simply because I was a huge Beach Boys fan and it was fun to read over all those songs.
I was a first born like you and pretty responsible, but I had a few of those same talks from my dad.
