Sunday Update....

I spent the day with Joe. Sundays in the hospital are usually just maintenance days.  They took out his IV because it was getting red and was bleeding. He doesn't need IV drugs anymore since he can swallow his meds now.  They also took him off the heart monitor.  Our cardiologist came on as a consult (I called and kind of got that started). He wasn't happy about the blood  pressure being high and the AFib out of control again because they were withholding some of the meds. He is now back on his regular medicine and his blood pressure is back to normal and the AFib has settled a bit. Still there, but not racing. Our son stayed until around 10:00, then he headed back to Georgia (arrived safely).

Joe has been working on his hand and can now move three fingers a bit. We were very happy about that.  I took a few walks with him and held his left hand. I kept telling him to squeeze my hand and one time he actually did just a little. We now know his hand can come back with some hard work.

We are hoping tomorrow's evaluation will go well and he will have a place in the rehab unit. I have taken tomorrow off from work so I can be there.

Several friends came by today and spent some time with us. Joe also finally called his two brothers and told them what happened.  One of them saw some things on Facebook yesterday. That is not how we wanted them to find out, but it is what it is.  They were both happy to talk with Joe and hear that he is okay - except for the hand.  We also heard from a couple other family members. We are so blessed with our support group, and with all of you who are praying for us. Thank you, thank you!

Thanks for your visit and for your prayers and positive energy!  Peace & hugs!
