Throwback Thursday....
Eliza Jane (Robuck) and James B. Dement. These are my Great-Great Grandparents, on my mom's side of the family. My grandmother was raised by her grandmother, Eliza Jane. She freely admitted to being very spoiled. She even had one of the first radios in town.
Eliza Jane's mother was Sarah Cindilla Mahaffey and it is through her line that I belong to the Daughter's of the American Revolution (DAR). John Mahaffey, my Revolutionary Soldier Ancestor, was Sarah's grandfather.
I really enjoy researching family history and only wish I had more time to devote to it. Have you done any family history research?
Thanks for stopping by today! Wishing you a good Thursday (Friday Eve!!), Peace & hugs.

I haven't done any history research. My cousin enjoys doing this and she has filled me in on a few facts about our family. Isn't it funny how none of them ever smiled in pictures from long ago. Interesting blood line you have.
ReplyDeleteNot in quite a awhile have I done research. Thanks for sharing Terri. Have a beautiful day. Blessings
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot of family history I don't know. Not too long ago, my sister Diana posted a couple of census documents on our family page on facebook. I saw at least one error that I'm aware of. Thanks for sharing your old photo and your family history too.
ReplyDeleteThis is something I want to do someday. Don't you just love old photos? Thanks for sharing.

ReplyDeleteHa-ha that you call it Friday eve. :-) How wonderful that you have that photo, Terri! I haven't done a lot of family history. I know that my paternal grandfather was born on the boat on the way here from Sweden. My maternal grandfather came here from Denmark as a 19 year old. He had $5 in his pocket and was sponsored by his brother in law who lived here. That's how immigration worked back then.
ReplyDeleteAnd how it should STILL work! Joe's family immigrated the same way and worked hard to be Americans when they got here.
DeleteI have never researched, but I have a daughter, and a cousin, that has and they really enjoy knowing the history of our family. Have a great day my friend.
ReplyDeleteMy grandad on my mother's side and a cousin on my dad's side both have, but I've never taken the time. I find it very interesting, but not enough to do what it takes to research further.
ReplyDeleteNo I never researched my family. I don;t know why but I was just never interested in that. That's neat that you know so much about yours.
ReplyDeleteI love family history and old pictures. This is a good one!
ReplyDeleteI too love family history, but so far have not had much time to devote to it. There are so many interesting stories.
