I finally got my new glasses! I love them, but am still getting used to having a new look.
I am NOT photogenic. I had a coworker take my picture (actually there were about 10 of them) and picked this one to share. It was not a good curly hair day, but most days are not good curly hair days. As you can see, I have quit coloring and am "natural" now. Being gray does have some advantages. No one asks if I want the senior discount. They just give it to me! LOL
The following photo shows my "old" glasses and was a professional shot at our Gala event last year. You can see the difference in glasses (and in how a professional can make you look so much better!). The gray was starting to come through as the color grew out, too.
The glasses are bigger than my last ones and fit my face much better. They are a burgundy color, as were my old ones. So, there you have it. All my silliness about being so excited for new glasses!!
Joe and I have plans to go to our Downtown Farmers' Market in the morning because they are also having a garden show with 45-50 plant vendors. Hoping to find something to make our front yard look like someone cares again. Whatever we get has to be draught proof, freeze proof and like being totally ignored. I refuse to cover plants with sheets and blankets the three or four nights we might get down to 30° in February. We also don't run our sprinklers (even though we have an in-ground sprinkler system). We let mother nature take care of plants. Enough said.
Also downtown tomorrow is the annual Hispanic Festival. We didn't go last year but have in previous years. The food is pretty amazing. Might have to get lunch while we are in the vicinity.
Wishing you a good weekend!! Thanks for your visit! Peace & hugs!

I like your new glasses and resistant plants too.. Have a good Friday.
ReplyDeleteAwesome!!! What do you mean your not photogenic??? Beautiful, Terri.
ReplyDeleteOh I love the new glasses. I'm thinking a different color next time myself. And, I like the Gray.....it's much easier on the pocketbook!!! We all need a little excitement in our lives even in the little things...like new spectacles! :) HOPE you're feeling better and have a great weekend!!
ReplyDeleteSo much of this is me! I don't color my hair either, the grays, I've earned them! Glasses, just got my first pair of bifocals - still can't get use to them. So I continually use my reading glasses. The covering of the plants, isn't happening, I can barely keep them alive without frost. Farmer's markets, love them! More for the food, not the plants. Enjoy all this weekend brings.
ReplyDeleteI'm bad ..... forgot to tell you - LOVE THE NEW LOOK!
ReplyDeleteOh honey, I totally relate! I'm still not "there" yet with my hair. Someday I'll be brave. My sister who is a few years younger than me has let her hair go uncolored for a few years already and looks great, and my youngest sister, who is gorgeous and could get away with anything, has never begun coloring her hair.
ReplyDeleteAs for glasses, I still wear contacts, but of course, take them out every night and have to put glasses on to find my way to the bed. My "new" pair is now twelve years old, hahaha!! If I ever have a reason I can't wear contacts in public, I'm in trouble. I just made an eye appointment yesterday so I can order more contacts. Perhaps if I feel like spending the big dollars I'll get new glasses too. I think yours look great. I have about fifty pairs of reading glasses all over the house and my purse and my office. Sometimes I discover that I have a pair of them on my face and a pair on top of my head at the same time!
Your new glasses look nice. Have fun at the Farmers Market. Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteYour new glasses are perfect! I really do like them Terri and so glad you do too. You are as pretty with no color in your hair and I feel like, I have earned every one of these grey hairs and am proud to show it! lol Enjoy your venture tomorrow the market(s). Have a great Friday my friend.
ReplyDeleteI like them. They do fit your face better, too.
ReplyDeleteI like the glasses. They look really nice.
ReplyDeleteI like the glasses and I think you look very nice. Wish I had put more thought into the frames for my recent purchase of glasses. I see in your pics a lovely and very friendly woman with a smiling face and cheerful demeanor. Enjoy the weekend!
ReplyDeleteI like the glasses and think you take a fine picture! I think we all feel like we aren't photogenic. :)
ReplyDeleteI need to get new glasses and hate trying to choose. One of these days I'll be brave enough to let my hair go gray, but it'll be a real change because my hair is pretty dark now!
Love your glasses AND your hair!! You look very good and you have a kind face. Thanks for talking about the girl stuff. We all go through these thoughts when we have to update things. You are not alone.
ReplyDeleteNice glasses and you look really good. I would say that men have it so easy but seeing how so many of them are getting into styling etc they'll be having our problems soon! How will they cope lol
