Joyce, From This Side of the Pond, gives us the questions and we answer them!! Link up on her site and join in the fun!! Thank you, Joyce!!
1. What's something that has recently 'tried your patience'? Not in a bad way, by any means, but our grand-puppies and our cats did not play well together this past weekend and it did cause me to have a few moments here and there. I want them to be buddies and enjoy each others' company, but know that will never happen. If only our animals would just understand what we try to tell them!!
2. Do you think patience comes to us naturally or is it something you have to learn as you grow? I think it is learned, and some of us learn more quickly than others. On a scale of 1-10 generally how patient are you? (1=I blow up at the drop of a hat and 10=I've got all the time in the world). Given that scale, I hover around 4-6 I think. I'm not a patient person but have learned to control it somewhat. I am probably the worst when driving in heavy traffic....thanks Dad. He did teach me to drive.
3. Share about a time when you felt like you could fly. Or a time you wished you could fly. Or a time you felt like you were flying. I've never felt like I could fly and don't remember a time ever wishing I could fly. I guess I felt like I was flying every time I have been in an airplane, but I don't think that is the answer looked for here.
4. Your favorite song with the word fly in the title or lyrics, or your favorite song that relates to flying in some way? The first thing that came to mind was Frank Sinatra's "Fly Me To The Moon". Not necessarily a favorite, but it is what I thought of first.
5. What's in your fall picnic basket and where are we picnicking in your neck of the woods this time of year? I haven't been on a picnic in years and years. We take fruit and bottles of water to the beach, so maybe that counts.
6. Carpentry, electrical, plumbing, landscaping...which skill would you most like to possess and how would you put that skill to use today? Our yard looks like no one cares (and I actually don't) so I suppose if I could be zapped with a green thumb I would begin immediately to make our yard look beautiful. I loathe yard work.
7. What's something you think is too expensive to justify buying lately? I've been wanting a new cat-tree for the kitties, but the one I want is $100 and I can't justify that right now. Their current one is falling apart, though, and they do love climbing high.....
8. Insert your own random thought here.
Thanks for your visit today!! I wish you peace & love!
Frank Sinatra-a favorite of mine! By the way, I'm loving your pumpkins on the side bar. How did you do that? I love the whimsical it adds to the blog look. It felt good to be back on the Hodgepodge this week. I've missed a few lately.
ReplyDeleteMichelle, this is a Blogaholic design. All I did was download it. You can go to her website by clicking on the icon - upper right hand corner....
DeleteYour special tab for prayer and praise and not worrying about posting something every day are both good ideas. I've always admired people who are able to post something every day, because I couldn't.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure the cats are glad to have their space back. They'd also love a new tree too! I'll look orward to your regular posts and those special ones. Have a good day.
I always enjoy our answers and great idea about the tab...Have a beautiful day, Terri. blessings
ReplyDelete***your not our, LOL
ReplyDeleteI really dislike yardwork too. Weeding is the worst. Our yard shows it too. lol
ReplyDeleteHave a great day!
I know what you mean about trying to post every day. I think you should post when you want to not because you feel you have to. Putting the prayer list on a separate tab is a good idea too. I not a lover of working in the garden but thanks to some paid help mine is looking better. Just have to keep it up now!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for letting us know about the new page for Prayers and Praises. Great answers today....HOPE your Wednesday is WONDERFUL!!!
ReplyDeleteI like Frank Sinatra too - Debby put him on her post too. I would have guessed you would be the most patient person - I am surprised you marked yourself that way! lol
ReplyDeleteI work hard at it, Sandie, and have conquered it for the most part!
DeleteBlogging daily is a lot of pressure. Taking a day off here and there definitely makes me a better writer. Not too many days off though : ) My hubs loves to work in the yard, and can't wait to get started. We are a looooong way from needing him to work in the yard right now-ha!
ReplyDelete"Fly Me to the Moon" -- that's a good one. It's one of Sinatra's songs that I like.
ReplyDeleteAs for the frequency of your posting, just watch, you say you have nothing to share and then POP! you'll have lots! I'm with you no matter how often (or not) that you post!!
I loved listening to Frank as I read your Hodgepodge today! Not enough singers like Frank left in the world!! Have a Happy Wednesday
ReplyDeleteI'll be readin' whenever you're bloggin' :) Blogging everyday is pressure-filled, and you'll be surprised how many things will come to you once the pressure is lifted. Great answers tonight, Dear. I, too, would like to get the kitties a tree, but they are too expensive right now, and Daisy can't climb well anymore. Catching up as I can. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteCats and dogs don't always play nice, do they? Maybe your kitties would play nicer if they got that new cat tree you're wanting :)
ReplyDeleteI don't know how you've blogged every day for as long as you have. It's so time consuming! I'm doing good to write 2 posts per week, these days. I'm glad you didn't totally do away with your prayer list. I fully believe the prayers of others helped get me to where I am today. I'll try to remember to take advantage of your tab regularly.
I've just come from Linda's Hodgepodge and I said the same thing about patience - that I felt it was learned , except in the case of dealing with other drivers, in which case my patience is getting so much worse!
ReplyDeletegood hodgepodge
ReplyDeleteI'm sorry you don't have access to cortland apples. They are wonderful with extra sharp cheddar cheese. I should have thought of "the Chairman of the Board." Your "Fly" song is a great choice. Have a wonderful weekend.
ReplyDeleteBefore Facebook I used to blog every day. But actually, my primary motivation at that time was the fact that my dad would check my blog first thing every morning, and I just couldn't bear to disappoint him! I really did have more to share every day back then when I was teaching. Now my jobs and weekdays are rather boring.
