Tuesday Tidbits Time...

Good Tuesday to you! I really don't have much to write about, but I'll post a few little tid-bits that might be interesting....

  • Work:  The auditors have all my files, so I am happy to have finished a day earlier than I expected. They will be on-site next week.
  • Weather:  It rained again yesterday, and probably will again today.  Rain is good, but I'm getting tired of it.
  • Home:  Onyx continues to improve and look better. He goes back to the Vet tomorrow, and we are anxious to see if he has gained some weight.
  • Family:  Joe and Darlene got a cat! Carmella looks like a sweet girl. I hope she will get along with the two pups, Zoey and Brooke!
  • Church:  The CCW get-together last night went okay, though we weren't able to finish for a couple of reasons. I have to admit that I am just not into 'women things'.  I don't like baby/wedding showers, I don't like parties that are just women. I don't enjoy meetings when lots of women are together. I have no patience for groups of women. I'm sorry. I never have and most likely never will.  The chatter bugs me; the fact that only 1/3 of those present are really workers bothers me; silly games drive me nuts. I don't like Mary Kay parties, Tupperware parties, Pampered Chef parties (the products, yes - the parties, no).... I love my girlfriends and enjoy lunch out with 3 or 4 - 5 or 6. When it gets to be a dozen or more, I just want to shut down and leave. I was the first to leave last night. We were bumping into each other. Half were in the kitchen drinking wine and eating snacks while a fourth were actually doing the work, and the other group were sitting around chatting. I just have no patience, or maybe I am just weird.
  • I guess that's enough, after that confession! Whew!
Wishing you a good Tuesday! Thank you for coming by. Be blessed!

  1. I don't think you're weird at all. Like you, I like the products, but not the parties. I'm so happy that we have a good administrator for our block of flats who keeps everyone's attention at meetings. Before this administrator there were certain people who used the meetings as social time. I'm sure all the animals will get used to one another and be best friends. Good that you've finished your work a day early and hope next week goes well.

  2. Preach it Sister! lol I do not now nor have I ever liked crowds of just women. I had plenty of time with 99% of women while I was still in nursing, and then my last job was me and 2 men and everything ran smoothly and I loved it. I do not go to the parties that you mentioned, and rarely go to the things at church (parties) with 100-200 people. It isnt that I dont like people, I just am terrible uncomfortable around small talk and gossip. Hope the kitty fits in with the doggies. Glad your part of the audit is behind you and you can breathe a sigh of relief. Let us know what the vet says about Onyx. Happy Tuesday!

  3. I totally understand your frustration with women groups! I used to belong to the mom's group at my old church and the gossiping and clicks that go on it a group annoyed me to no end. Congrats on getting your audit done a day early! This should make for a good rest of the week! I'm so happy that Onyx continues to improve! That's great that Joe and Darlene have a new cat! I think Carmella is such a cute name! Have a terrific Tuesday, Terri!

  5. I'm not one for parties period. With big groups - either all women or those that have mixed groups of men and women...they all seem so trivial, false, and phony [the people that is]

Congrats on getting your audit work done a day early.

  6. I knew there was another reason I like you -- - the girl group thing. I feel exactly the same way!!!! I will work beside you and do ministry work with you but don't do something just to entertain me or expect me to sit there and chit-chat. I like being with a small group for dinner or something - - - if I enjoy the persons - - - - then it can be fun you don't want to stop and all you are doing is talking and laughing!

  8. One reason we couldn't finish was because there weren't enough scripture verses that were to go in the packets. We needed 500 and only had 200, The woman responsible for having them printed, started yammering about how she was gyped. The box of cardstock said 100, and she got two boxes. The cardstock was perforated in quarters, so she thought there would be 800. I said that it was probably referring to 100 quarters, and the box had 25 pages. No, no, no. The box said 100!! Well, there were only 200 quarters. She still, loudly, kept saying how she would go back there and get her money back...yadda, yadda. So we filled bags without the scripture, and it could just be added later, then we ran out of tea bags. Someone didn't get enough boxes of tea bags for 500 packets. So now we have baggies filled, but without tea bags and without the scripture verses... I left. I'm too much of a control freak, I guess. If you are getting together for a project, make sure you have what you need, so you don't waste people's time.

  9. Here is what we were doing. We only picked out 11 items, with the corresponding scripture, and put them all in a ziplock baggie to hand out for our membership drive. http://www.ehow.com/how_2213870_christian-survival-kit.html

  10. You're not weird. I don't like those women groups either for all the same reasons. I've tried them and couldn't leave soon enough. I did have a Pampered Chef party once but I invited the men too, some actually came and it was fun.
Glad to hear Onyx is still improving. Hope he's put some weight back on.
That's good you have all the audit papers done. Hopefully the rest will go smoothly.
You have a good Tues. Stay dry.

  13. Oh boy do I hear you on the silly female gatherings.. That is why I made the rules for our Crones' camping and gatherings.....It had to be a very special child before i would go to a baby shower and I also hate those silly games...I will stop now before I get on the soap box and start to rant.

  14. Hope things go well for Onyx. I feel the same way about groups of women. No kidding. I avoid the parties as much as possible. One on one is much better and then discussion of God and/or politics. Small talk is not my strong suit. (You'd probably not know that from my blog.) :-) Hippie you have s good Wednesday Terri.

  16. If you are weird then I am too sweet Terri. I do not like those things either. Glad to hear sweet Onyx is still improving and I hope he has gained weight. Hugs and give Onyx some nose kisses for us. We will keep praying for him.

  17. Went to only one "churchladies" meeting and never went back. Too much like junior high school shenanigans. PTO meetings were tedious, as well. People offering to help, and not finishing their part of the task. I volunteered in the schools while the kids were small, and some organizations were better than others, but church organizations were the WORST. THE worst for people battling for glory with little effort. Arghhh! Maddening.

Sorry took me so long to comment, I've been playing catchup around here after getting back home from OH. Hugs, Sweetie.

  18. I actually always got along better with guys. For some reason, they were easier to talk to. And I have a small circle of friends that I'm close to. I totally get the group thing. :-)
