Happy Independence Day!!

I'm participating in the Farmhouse Porch Chat, from Everyday Ruralty.

Chat on the Farmhouse Porch 146

Everyday Ruralty

From Patrice & Wendell:  Hello, friends! The porch is very hot today. It is JULY in all of its glory. The gardens are doing well, but it's a bit dry. Weather reports say that it might be wet soon. There is a storm on the way. Wendell wants one of those hats that has an umbrella attached. Silly horse!

I hope you are all having an enjoyable summer. Do you have any plans for July 4th? Yes, we do! Our son is coming down from Georgia, our friends Helen & Cheryl are coming, and maybe a couple of the neighbors. The cook-out is on!!

This week's questions:

1.  What's your favorite kind of cheese?  I love cheese. A nice sharp cheddar is always good, but I love most kinds of cheese. Cheese and crackers makes a great snack, anytime!  Love brie, too!

2.  Have you ever been in a log cabin? Yes! Stayed in a lovely one, on vacation, in Pigeon Forge, TN. Hot tub and all!

3.  What is your favorite kind of salad dressing? I really love poppy seed dressing, but also like Catalina, Olive Garden's, and ranch. I can also just do vinegar and oil.

4.  When was the last time you saw someone from your high school days? When my BFF, Karen and her husband Lee were here in April.

5.  Tell me what the perfect dinner party would look like for you.  I love to have friends and family to dinner, and can happily do a cook-out style buffet, to using fine linens and the good china. The main thing is the love around the table! The food is important, but not as important as the company.

Wishing you all a nice July 4th!!  We're having heavy rain, off and on. Probably the leftovers from Hurricane Arthur, moving up the coast. Hope all in his path stay safe.

  6. We stayed in a cabin in Pigeon Forge too - loved it! Beautiful weather here in Michigan - 70's, low humidity and a breeze.
