Throw Back Thursday.....
I have mentioned before that the only thing I miss (from "up north") , since we have been in Florida, is visiting the apple orchard in the Fall. We lived in Alexandria, Virginia, and it was a beautiful day-trip to drive up to this orchard, in Maryland. It is actually very near Camp David. That is Joe, standing in front of the store, and this is the last time we were there (Oct 17, 2004). We were in Virginia, visiting our son, and we all enjoyed our day. Fresh Cortland apples (my favorite!) and cider. Oh my goodness!!
Am I rushing the summer, thinking about Fall already? Probably. It's too darn hot.
Thanks for checking in!! Have a blessed day!

I love going to the orchard too, but I don't want to think about that yet! Fall means winter isn't too far away. :)
ReplyDeleteWe have family in Frederick, and when we lived in Annapolis made lots of treks to the Catoctins. We camped up near Cunningham Falls which is so pretty, and used to take our girl scout troops out to pick apples that direction. Such a beautiful part of the country!
ReplyDeleteThere is just something special about having apple cider in the fall. I am already thinking fall here, lol. Thanks for sharing the memory. Blessings
ReplyDeleteI love apple cider. Yum!
ReplyDeleteLove, love and love apple cider. We have an orchard on top of Signal Mtn., where one of my daughters lives, and I always go the first day they open their doors. As for fall, since it is my all time favorite time of year, I do already think of it from time to time. Hugs for today tho!
ReplyDeleteP. S. I enjoy cider so much that I purchased a box of K-cups for hot apple cider. Not good, dont waste your money on that one.
ReplyDeleteLinda, unfortunately, we already tried it. I love hot spiced apple cider - the K-Cup version is awful. Blechtttt!
DeleteI always drink apple cider, which is fizzy and has alcohol in it, at celebrations rather than champagne. Have you ever seen how they pour cider into the glasses in Asturias, the part of Spain famous for its cider? They hold the glasses in one hand and raise the bottle really high and pour it that way. Surprisingly, most of the cider goes into the glasses.
ReplyDeleteI think I told you one of my oldest friends used to live in Alexandria when she worked for the Government.
Sounds yummy! I'm here catching up with you today. Thanks for your comments on my recent post.
ReplyDeleteGreat picture! One of my favorite fall activities is going to an apple orchard - cider mill! I love autumn!
ReplyDeleteOh yes, the apple orchards are so fun. I can wait though. We don't have long enough summers here.
