I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream Hodgepodge!

Welcome to another Hodgepodge!

Hodgepodge Questions-Volume 183

Here are the questions to this week's Hodgepodge...answer on your own blog, then hop back HERE tomorrow to join the linky party.  See you there-

1. When I look at the sky I feel...blessed and in awe, most of the time. Lately, though, there have been too many rain-filled dark clouds when I look at the sky. We do need the rain, but.....

2. If you had to run for political office, which one would you run for? Do you have any real desire to actually do this?  Running for office (any political office) is not something I have ever or would ever consider. No desire, no interest, nada. It's a dirty game.

3. What scent makes you think of home?  Mom's pot roast in the oven; Granny's fried chicken on the stove....chocolate chip cookies just out of the oven. Most any yummy, good food smell reminds me of home. I come from a long line of great cooks, and sometimes wonder how I missed out on that gene! I do okay, but nothing as memorable as the food prepared by my mom and granny.

4. How often do you take a step back to think about where you're headed in life? Do you need more or less self-reflection?  At my age, and at this stage of my life, I am done worrying about where I am headed. There aren't many turns left on this road.  I'm almost there!

5. July is National Ice Cream Month...besides a cone, what's your favorite food item to top with ice cream?  Ice cream is at the top of the food pyramid at our house. A dip of ice cream, topping off a piece of pie or a piece of cake - yum. Warm cobbler that makes it melt....double yum.

6. What might your autobiography be called?  (Snort!!)  "Read This To Help You Sleep"!!

7. Your least favorite mode of transportation? Why? These days, walking. It hurts my knees.  If you mean something that you get inside....my long legs do not fit comfortably in backseats of small cars, coach seats on airplanes, or tourist trolley cars...

8.  Insert your own random thought here.  When I get to this question, I never seem to have a really random thought. Only things not so random, like Onyx going to the Vet today, to see how he is doing, or our kids moving into their new home this weekend....

Thanks for reading my Hodgepodge answers this week, and thanks to Joyce for another fun grouping!  I appreciate your comments and look forward to your posts! Be blessed!

  1. I'm right there with ya' about food smells making me think of home :)

I loved your answer about thinking about where we're headed. Isn't that the truth?!

I'll bet your autobiography would be more interesting than you think!

    Have a great day.

  2. Your answers are always so entertaining! And I doubt very seriously if your autobiography would put anyone to sleep! Have a wonderful Wednesday, Terri!

  3. I have long legs too. That's another reason flying is not my favorite. My legs have no place to stretch out! Since you are an ice cream lover, look for Baskin & Robbins in grocery stores now! (My hubby is the guy responsible for getting it there.)

  5. #6 just cracked me up!!! How ingenious.

One time I ate way too many warm chocolate chip cookies right out of the oven....no more...even the odor is nauseating. LOL My fault.

  7. My mom wasn't a very good cook so food smells don't remind me of home. We lived very near the bay so I guess the smell that reminds me of home would be stinky low tide. LOL

My fave way to eat ice cream is a banana split. It has fruit in it so it has to be healthy. lol Have a great day!

  8. Hope your kids' move goes smoothly. We have kids who will be moving in the next few months. Seems like they always need help with that task, and I'm getting too old for that!! Ha! Have a great day!

  10. Ha-your book title : ) Pot roast makes me think of my grandma's house. I love that smell, and wish I could get mine to turn out as perfectly as hers always did. I don't cook a lot of roast with just the two of us here now.

  11. The smell of spices like cinnamon and cloves and vanilla remind me of home. And warm apple pie a la mode sounds good to me. I love looking at the sky too, especially when there are interesting clouds. Hope Onyx brings home some good news.

  14. I have to laugh at myself, I had a DUH moment. I was looking to see where you live like it isn't screaming it from your blog name!!!! Those are excellent smells to bring you home. Your random thoughts are perfect. I will often think of something to share and write it down when it's not big enough for a post. Then I'm ready for my random on Wednesday's!

    1. Hello Debby! Thanks for peeking in. I live in Lakeland, FL. We are halfway between Tampa and Orlando, right off I-4. Central Florida, but considered Tampa Bay.

    2. I've been by Lakeland many times. I didn't know there was a Coldwater Creek outlet in Orlando. I haven't stopped in at the mall in the last few years! Too late now.....
