Painting Done!

Well, we were up earlier than we like, on a Saturday morning, but it was all good!!  The painter, Don, arrived promptly at 8:00 a.m., and got to work. He was finished with both rooms in just under four hours. They look perfect! I am amazed. It took me 2 1/2 days to paint our bedroom! I told Joe I am never painting again. We'll call Don.

We went to Mass, at 4:00, and then went out to eat with a couple we don't see socially very often anymore. Lucille is the art teacher at our local Catholic High School, where I worked as Business Manager for almost four years, before I took the job at the Museum - so we have known each other a long, long time. Her husband, Al, is in commercial real estate and is in the Rotary group Joe used to belong to. Anyway, we had a great time with them! They go to our church, so we just left church and met at Bonefish Grill. We agreed that we need to do it more often.  As an aside, Lucille has had both of her knees replaced and is very happy with them...we conversed about that a bit.

Here are some photos of our newly painted rooms, and also of the mess we are living with right now. The mess won't go away until after the floors go down, so we will be at least another week, if not longer.

Our dining room, full of two bedrooms (and Joe's office stuff).

All of this junk came from two closets...my stuff, including
over-flow clothing, sewing supplies, craft supplies, painting/drawing supplies,
and jewelry making supplies. Too much!

All of the cats think it is great fun to explore and climb on everything.
This is Vinny (of course).

Walls rolled, and getting ready to do the trim.

Guest room is done. Sorry the color doesn't show so well in
this photo, but I am very pleased.

That was our Saturday. I hope you are having a good weekend! Thanks so much for stopping by my blog, and for leaving a comment! Your friendship here is a blessing! Peace, love & hugs.

  6. I know, Terri. We all have too much stuff! I had a bit of a clean out at Christmas and need to continue. Can't wait until everything is back in its place and you have photos. At least the cats are enjoying the upheaval!

  7. Yes, the mess is always hard to deal with. I continue to put off painting until the grand kids are a little older, but it would be so nice to have the inside painted. This past month we have been dealing with new floors in the upstairs bathroom. Finally done. I realized this week if I would just pull out a few clothes from my closet in Sunday evenings, I wouldn't have to waste time staring at everything in the closet trying to decide what to wear.
I would love to "clean house" and get rid of a lot of the sfuff we have collected.

  8. Post more as I seem to think the beige is a wamer tone and might just invite me to sleep in that room.

  9. Looks like your bedrooms are coming along great! Happy to hear you had a wonderful time with your friends. I bet it felt reassuring to hear your friend talk positively about her knee surgeries! I have a question about the comment box here. Has the "Sign Out" button always been right under this box? I have written this comment 2 times but I keep hitting the sign out button! I think blogger put it in a silly place...LOL.

  10. Wow, two rooms painted in just four hours! Impressive.

I learned from experience, it's tough to fit everything back into the spaces it came out of. Good luck with that :)
