Slow, Sleepy Saturday....

Glorious Saturday!!  In spite of the rain this afternoon, it has been glorious. I didn't get up until almost 9:00 a.m.! It sure did feel good to sleep until I felt like getting up.

Once we got ourselves moving, Joe and I went to the hospital to visit with Gregory. He has been moved to a private room, which is good. His old roommate snored (Gregory said) and he couldn't get any sleep. He is doing a little better and is finally being allowed to try some clear liquid foods. If he tolerates those, they will try him on some soft foods tonight and perhaps solids tomorrow. He might get to go home tomorrow, but I have a feeling it won't be until Monday.  His folks came in while we were there, and we all had a nice visit. His mom told us that they are sending him home with nursing care, because there are still two drains in the incision that need to be cared for. Poor thing. I feel so bad for him. Please keep him on your prayer lists, if you will.

After the hospital, we stopped in at Walmart for a few things we always get there, then went on to Publix for our more extensive list of items. I just made a no-bake cheesecake and put it in the refrigerator. It has to set for at least two hours.  If it is tasty, and passes the Joe-my-favorite-thing-to-eat-is-cheesecake taste test, I will put the recipe on here tomorrow.

I took a little nap while Joe watched his Philly's baseball game.  We had a late lunch of ham and Swiss cheese sandwiches, on fresh Kaiser rolls, so I think we will just pick at stuff for dinner, and (hopefully) enjoy the cheesecake later!

At least is didn't start raining until we got back from our running around.  The rain, I think, is making my knees bark at me a bit - and my hands and ankles today.  It's arthritis flare-up weather, I guess.

I hope you have had just the kind of Saturday you wanted when you got up this morning! Blessings for a wonderful Sunday ahead! Peace, love & hugs! Thanks for stopping by.

  7. I was just thinking the poor tourists are going to melt in Madrid, but sounds like the ones there won't have to go to the beach or wherever to swim. Wow! Did you ever sleep late! Yesterday I woke up wondering where the construction noise was and then remembered it was Saturday.

I have a nice no-cook cheesecake recipe that I got off The Southern Lady Cooks site (she's from Kentucky) . I haven't made it here, because I'd have to make the graham cracker crust (from digestive biscuits which are similar) and we don't have cherry pie filling so I'd probably use strawberries. Hope yours turns out just as good as her recipe.

Gregory is lucky to have friends like you and I won't forget to say a prayer for him and you and your knee.
